All the more reason to deal him there, IMHO.

So if Bynum, who is much better offensively was the first option on the Magic, would he make his teammates better? or would he himself, be better without having team mates (Kobe, Gasol) who were the options in front of him?

In honesty I think a Bynum trade makes HIM better because he will be the first option. Not only that you rarely see Bynum doubled teamed because of the due fact he had great teamates. If Dwight goes to L.A. the same will happen and Dwight is not a good of a 1 on one player such as Bynum is. i think we gain a lot more offensively.

I think Bynum being the #1 option he can put up the best center stats since Yao. Like 25/13.

Bynum is better offensively than Dwight now, and has a higher ceiling than Dwight on offense.

Dwight has reached his offensive ceiling imo

I agree.
Anybody remember where the one season Kobe missed like 5 or 6 games or so and Bynum had the offense ran through him? His stats whent up about 22 points 11.5-12 rebounds. I know it's 5 games, but still, I don't think Bynum has reaches any of his offensive potentials. I would say he is a better passer than dwight out of the post too. I could be stretching that because dwight improved on that this past season.

Houston may be backing off. I mean I think teams are tired of playing games with the Magic and Howard. It is F/A season and teams are trying to add to their teams before all the quality F/A get snapped up. They do not have time to play the waiting game with Dwight and Hennigan. In the meantime, apparently some potentially appealing trade offers are vaporizing. I hope Henny is not over his head here.

+1 You worded it much better than I did. The way I put it put people into snap mode.
Thats all though. My only concern is we don't lose what teams that are interested due to "Our Patience"

It doesn't seem to take much to get some posters in "snap mode."

I don't know. How is Bynum w/double teams because he will not have the teammates here to command attention away from him. Will he be better? Then again, we don't know who his teammates will be so...

I think this assessment is spot on. If Bynum comes here, he will explode offensively

Dwight has reached his offensive ceiling imo

Probably, and playing next to Kobe or Joe Johnson will not help inflate his stats. I suspect that if Dwight goes to LA or Brooklyn, his numbers drop to something like 15 PPG. Of course his rebounding will probably go up a bit, so 15PPG/14RPG could be realistic numbers for him.

Nets would take Evans into their $3 mil trade exception. Clips wouldn't see 2nd rounder for a while. Not sure what year 2nd is.

Once we look desperate for a trade, we lose a lot of leverage. I don't see any rush. Keep him til the deadline again for all I care.

It's almost been 7 days since the draft, shouldn't we have a coach soon?

Are the rest of you as confident as this guy in regards to Bynum's chronic knee condition? :o

What about Horford's injury problems last year? Or Dwight's for that matter?

People get hurt playing basketball, that's professional sports.

Oh, and Thompson? That part was intended to be a joke, right?

I have ZERO confidence that if given a max contract that Bynum would fulfill it being healthy. That's why I would rather have Thompson who doesn't have chronic progressive skeletal problems and would come at a cheaper contract. So no, it wasn't a joke and I do think Thompson can be a good starting Center for a Championship caliber team. Depends what else you have around him. He scores inside, rebounds and defends inside at 6'11, 250. There have been many championship teams with inferior presence at C.

One can hope, but someone made a good point earlier that whoever is considering taking the job is probably waiting to see who will be here. Maybe they demand more salary if they have to deal with the "big tantrum" as opposed to coaching a rebuilding team??? I don't know but hopefully we get one soon.

@O_Magic11: Bynum was already taken care of. This is an easy deal to make.

Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
@O_Magic11: Bynum would LOVE to come to Orlando. He's ready to be out of LA.

This. Bynum can't handle double teams at all. He's going to disappoint a lot of you if we trade for him and expect him to avg 25 ppg.
