I know they do. I have a feeling Ray may sign in the dotted line. All I am saying. On the other hand, I would not be surprised if he took another offer which included a starting role and $$$ (Clippers).

Nash will help the Knicks, but not enough to beat us.

That movie will create more of these threads, though: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1145408

I don't believe it at all. Until Ray Allen comes out and says he is signing with Miami, I don't believe it.

In fact, until Ray Allen signs on the dotted line, I don't believe him. They hate us.

It can't be official until July 11th but this is done. We're gonna find out tomorrow when he meets with the Heat that he has agreed to terms with them.

The only way this doesn't happen is if the Clippers offer him the same amount of money as Boston and a starting job. We're the only team pursuing him that is a NBA title contender anyways, which made his decision to leave Boston easier in my opinion

Definitely not saying the Knicks are a better team then us now, even if we don't sign Ray bringing back core players alone makes us better, I'm just saying it was a good move. It doesn't even really hurt them defensively because Nash is a pg, and they were already weak at that position (it's not like we have a defensive pg either and we are World Champions...). Plus they could easily pick up a defensive minded sg with their mini mle. I respect this move.
My heart BIG... But it beat quiet

Excuse me if I don't think that giving up Iman for Nash is "decent" or "brilliant". A soon to be 39 year old brittle Steve Nash, who has been very dependent on Phoenix's medical staff and is injury prone, for an up and coming premier defensive player, that can develop an offensive game some day?

Retrded.

There's no other word for it. Nash will be walking into a team that just came out with 3 or 4 players with knee injuries last season. I'd be shocked if he lasts the entire season healthy.

Meanwhile Phoenix will have a young developing defensive stud.

Never have I thought Iman was Dwyane Wade so get out of here with that. No one has even mentioned the fact that Carmelo and Jeremy Lin are ball dominant and so is Nash.

They get worst defensively without Shumpert and their offense becomes more suspect.

How on earth will the Knicks be a threat for the Heat. Nash, Lin, JR, STAT, Melo...ehhmmm DEFENSE???...there only defensive threats were chandler and shumpert now they gave away one of them and traded him for a 39 year old former MVP who does not play defense at all...so basically they added another offensive minded player who plays no defense and is WAY beyond his prime...look we have lebron, wade, battier, joel, and even bosh who play great defense...so please the Knicks will never come near the Heat if they don t start building a more defensive minded team

Knicks have players like Melo and STAT who talk about playing defense but don't go out and actually do it. Chandler can't be the only guy playing defense. You saw what happened in the first round. What makes us great is guys like LeBron, DWade, and Bosh actually go out and play elite defense, setting an example for the rest of the team.

Ira Winderman ‏@IraHeatBeat
Heat bypass qualifying offer to Terrel Harris, guard now an unrestricted free agent

Heat had been saying they really liked the guy, guess they didn't like him that much

got to make room

I hope they do get Nash. It will be laughable. Can't wait for another "They scared now" thread to be bumped after they lose in the first round.

Since Ray is coming what do you guys think about something like this

We get
Kendrick Perkins

We give
Mike Miller/Joel Anthony and future considerations...would this even be feasible under the cap? Perkins would give us our center and is a big body that can clog the paint, plus he worked well with Ray Allen by all accounts which would probably help his transition to South Beach a lot more.

Its an outside the box idea, I know his contract isn't great but its better than Anthony and Miller...

What are yalls thoughts on Drew Gordon? He went undrafted. He's 6'9 245 and was one of the best rebounders in the NCAA and played with a high motor. He doesn't have a jumper but can finish around the basket.

Well, I don't agree with that. Chalmers is a good defender

What the hell? The reason why we won in the finals was because OKC played Porkins

I actually like the guy better than both of them...I think the trick is to put him on a team where you wont have him play against a guy like LeBron or Wade...he actually didn't do bad against San Antonio and was a nice anchor for years with Boston. I'd love to beat Boston with their own players that would make it even sweeter than the last two years. Plus Perkins should be now fully healed from the freak injury in the 2010 finals.

They could have had Bill Russell as their Center and we would have destroyed them. We were just that much better.
