This doesn't surprise me at all... personally I was hoping that the Suns would look past the rivalry but I didn't see it happening... o'well, hopefully the Lakers will somehow acquire Calderon or re-sign Sessions.

Wowww Suns are really that butt hurt about us killing them each year? Well what about the time they did beat us when we had the likes of Smush and Kwame Brown? Is that our fault too that they lost the WCF?? Suns are such a butt hurt franchise it's literally laughable.

Trades rarely happen between division rivals when was the last time the Lakers traded with the Kings, Clippers, Warriors or the Suns.

The Laker/Suns rivalry goes back further than just what happened in 2005 thru 2008. That was really the only brief period where they got the best of us. The 80's is the decade that traumatize them and even though they've changed ownership since that time some how they haven't shook it.

It's gotta be hard for Robert Sarver to deal with us, seeing as one brief moment he was kicking our ass then in an instant we go to raking them over the coals again once we got Pau.

Really? Zero? You mean even worse than the Bobcats? Somebody get this guy to Vegas quick, he's really laying down the odds.

But just for the record those players were brought up by Aldridge and NOT by me! Read the previous posts! I personally don't think Nash is going to come to LA anyways.

Oh but see, I do read all the related posts. That's actually the difference between you and me. But lol... you're probably right, I should cut you a break. You've got plenty of other people now calling you on your sh*t so why don't I just enjoy this?

No, actually you don't otherwise you wouldn't have said that bull earlier. Wait, you thought when I said "I know something else you need to stop" that I was asking for you to stop huh? LOL! Nah, that wasn't it... I just kept it G-rated for this board LOL. Plenty of other people huh, well I'm looking and I only see your bull on this board.

Anyways, this has been very entertaining but I'm done... unlike you, I have a life, and I don't waste my time reading posts about sports while drinking a beer... pretty lame if you ask me  :kissmybutt:

I don't know why this was a topic anyway, a lot of what the Lakers are putting out there in the media is just to please this fan base. Make us think they're trying to do things and once things don't happen for them they can say "well we tried". This is the same team bitching about how the CBA was going to handcuff us, ans yeah the real smart guys knew this. But it was no need to profess it to the media every chance they got.

They've already came out and said they won't be active in free agency, yet all you see here on this board and in the media is that the Lakers are going or talking to so and so. This is why I don't get all hyped up over free agency or believe half of what's being said, because in the end guys will either stay for the money or chase the money their previous team couldn't provide.

Bottom line is the Lakers aren't getting Nash. Don't want his old broken down ass anyway.

You and I are in agreement on this one. :)

fwiw I made this post in the "Lakers looking to acquire Nash" thread in the GB.

AcecardZ wrote:I'm going to be disliked for saying this but so what. Many Suns fans are vastly overrating Nash's value at this point. Also, and I don't begrudge Nashtay for this at all, some gm is going to overpay that guy when imho it's quite clear he's very much on the downside of his career.

On top of everything else the guy is awful at defense. The Lakers might get slightly better offensively with Nash, even that's not a guarantee at Nash's age although I will agree it's likely, but it's quite possible they're worse defensively with Nash playing PG than with Sessions.

Let the hate begin but before you get your feathers too ruffled I think Nash is amazing and one of the greatest pg's to play the game but time is definitely his enemy now.

And this post:

Bolded is the really funny part of it all. I never knew how hated the Lakers were by Suns fans until I met a buddy a few years ago from the Phoenix area. He went to ASU and is a huge Suns fan/Nash fan and absolutely roots against the Lakers with every ounce of energy in his body. I tried to explain to him that the hatred wasn't mutual but he wasn't having any of it. I tried to explain to him that the Lakers only real rivalry is with Boston and to a lesser extent SA and he wasn't having any of it. I've sat and watched many Suns games with him and rooted for Nash and he still cheers his lungs off every time a team makes a good play against the Lakers.

I proposed this to him knowing how huge of a Steve Nash fan he is. I asked him if Nash was traded to the Lakers, something that will never happen by the way because of the Suns' resentment and Nash's resentment towards the Lakers, and the Lakers were playing Miami in the NBA finals giving Nash an opportunity at his first championship who would he root for? Without a moments hesitation he said he'd root for the Heat to crush the Lakers even though his favorite athlete of all time was on the Lakers. That's some serious hatred right there.

Looks like the Suns and Knicks have a deal for Shumpert, Gadzuric, and Douglas. I guess we can consider him gone at this point... though I never thought he'd come here anyways.

He's not going to put the Knicks over the top. They'll still get clubbed by Boston or Miami in the playoffs.

If Nash is broken, I don't know what that makes Kobe.

Yeah he is.....do you not see him laying on the floor. His back is wrecked. You guys can't seem to understand what that means. Just because a guy hasn't had a plethora of injuries doesn't mean he's durable. Nash isn't even what he was 3 years ago, if you think so then I don't know what to say for you.

Nash is what I call now a "hot flash" player, meaning he'll give you his old self in some spurts. Dude can't carry a team anymore he's done.

His production and efficiency are still elite and haven't suffered the drop off we've seen from the Kobester last year.

pretty much this. hes still one of the best players in the league and a top 5 point guard. his offense has shown little to no decline.

Look at Kobe's playoff numbers and keep trying to convince us that Kobe's game has fallen off that significantly.

I don't think it has fallen off significantly, nor did I say so. Although, It has suffered a drop off that is incomparable to Nash. In regards to Kobe's playoff numbers, does 43% ring a bell?
