He's not THE anchor...he's AN anchor. It's a team, dammit. He's a good player overall, but an elite defensive player...great....exceptional...extraordinary. Why the hell do you think Houston's offering him what they're offering him? Are they insane or maybe they value one of the best defensive centers in the NBA very highly and don't much care that he'd only play 12-15 mpg for the Bulls. You may not think that much of him, but Houston obviously does.
If you're a mid-market NBA have-not which is operating at a loss or just eaking out a small profit, this would be a no-brainer...let him walk. The Bulls are a rich team, so it's not a no-brainer...it's a tough decision.
