I am also thinking the clincher was Kobe convincing management to get Mike D'Antoni. Nash is friends with him and Kobe loves playing for him.

 Thanks dude!

I wonder what Howard might think about a Lakers trade now?

I'm shocked. Mitch is THE MAN.

However guys.. this does come with risks. Not a huge risk with only a loss of picks.. but Steve does have a bad back and now we have an even older lineup when we NEEDED youth and enthusiasm. I'm interested to seeing the follow up moves to this.

You gotta believe we can't keep Kobe (27m), Andrew Bynum (16m), Pau Gasol (19m) along with Steve Nash's approaching 10m. That's a TON of salary.

I feel there are a couple of people on this board who need to apologize or at least acknowledge that they were wrong with their disparaging remarks towards Jim Buss. The guy has been belittled for months by some of you without giving him a chance to really do anything. The man obviously still cares about winning.

Gotta roll the dice. We're an old team. If we can't dump everybody and start over, this is the only option. I'm ecstatic with this move. Bring Sessions back to keep Steve fresh, and I like it even better.

I'm so excited for next season, our offense wont be anywhere near as anemic as it was last season, and Nash is at best a lateral move in terms of defensive liability.

**** let basketball start already.

I'm one. Very, very pleased with this move, so I would definitely shake his hand right now. Might even walk across the street to do it, too.

Hopefully Mike will actually let Steve run the offense, instead of sticking him in the corner as a spot-up shooter or something dumb like that.

I know we've all put our trust in Mitch after the Pau deal. But this proves the guy knows what he's doing. Also, credit to Jim and Jerry Buss. They took a lot of heat when it seemed we weren't willing to spend money to continue competing for rings.

He can't guard any worse than sessions or blake, and to boot, his opponent actually has to play defense and get tired out. He's also one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. This is a good upgrade. It's not like we run plays or have a coach, so with Nash being the floor general our plays will improve too.

Gotta see what else the Lakers do...if they keep everybody or trade up, mad props to Lakers front office, since it's a clear commitment to win now.

But this all hinges on what they do with Pau Gasol. If we get Nash but give away Gasol, it doesn't necessarily make us a better team.
