Ersan Ilyasova
I like this guy from Mil and he's a poor man's Dirk who could play off of Bynum. Very athletic and is listed at 6'10. Should we make a move with Pau and a sign and trade using the exception and paying him 8-10 mil?

I think this trade will free up cap room to fill those holes.

Ive been high on this guy for awhile. Doubt the Bucks allow him to walk though and doubt they are interested in Pau's salary. They are a team in rebuilding mode. No incentive to get Pau.

He's an unrestricted free agent and I think we should move Pau and free up some space to get him at age 25.

HA!HA! I usually come on and just read what all the heavy hitters post, but I'm hoping the Wizard of OZ and The Scarecrow in the FO will log on and read this post.

He or Ryan Anderson would be a fantastic addition. Teletovic would be even better. The problem? None of them are realistic targets, except maybe -- MAYBE -- Anderson. And I hesitate to even go that far, excluding the possibility ORL packages him with Howard, J. Rich, or Turk.
Bucks aren't interested in any of our garbage contracts.

I was thinking about him too, but i heard he's pretty bad defensively. Plus he started balling during the 2nd half of the season, so he's probably gunna demand alot of money, money that the lakers don't have. But i would like to have him, he shot 45% from 3 this year.

I like him a lot in Milwaukee but he isn't ready for the big time games. We need to surround Kobe with guys that are ready to play night in and night out.

"The Bucks have offered Ilyasova a five-year contract worth nearly $40 million, league sources said". I think we can offer this and the trade exception with Pau and free up a ton of money. Pau can play both front court positions for the Bucks and would really help them. We could do four-year for $32 million with the 4th year being a team option. Throw in some bs bonuses and he'd bite on it.

You do realize that contract is not better right? Offer the same thing with a player option or maybe a bit more. Its still gets us cheaper for Pau for this year and next.

Re: Ersan Ilyasova
Ersan Ilyasova would be a perfect Laker. He can play either forward position and really found his game the later part of this season and became a starter. 16 points and 9 rebounds down the stretch.
Minnesota wants some veteran leadership around Love, Rubio, and Budinger. They Love Gasol and the fact that he can play PF or C. Gasol still has huge trade value. Mitch is getting lots of interest, the problem is cap fits.
Milwaukee had to trade Bogut to get Ellis. They are now in need of quality size in the post.
We can get Gasol to the Wolves and we can get the Bucks the young center they need...If Ilyasova will do a sign and trade to the Lakers for a contract that pays him $8.5 MIl a year.
Here's the trade:
Wolves get:
Gasol
Blake
Bucks get:
Pekovic
Metta Peace
Lakers get:
Ilyasova
D.Williams
Ridnour
Sanders
Lakers have interchangable forwards to cause match-up problems with Derrick Wiliams and Ersan Ilyasova starting together. Like having 2 Lamar Odoms. Younger legs for Nash to dish to if they want to run more!

Wolves wouldn't give up Perkins AND Williams for Gasol, that's for sure.

You're totally right. The Wolves don't even have a Perkins on their roster.

Way more complicated than it needs to be. Salaries don't match, and the FO was already offered Williams not once but twice; they don't want him.
BUT I think you have the right idea. Any trade for Gasol will likely be a three-teamer, and that includes a S&T for Ersan. Whether we have Bynum or Howard, a stretch four is the way to go.

I don't think the Lakers refused taking Williams, they simply needed more in return. That's why a third team is probably needed. As young as Williams is, he has not shown enough game yet to warrant an even exchange for a proven star like Gasol.

Re: Ersan Ilyasova
Ersan would be an amazing fit with the Lake Show. He's great on the offensive glass and is such an active big I imagine he'd get a lot of put backs and easy buckets from Nash, plus can shoot it from 3.
