Hump for Milsap in 3 way trade?

Post#1 » by PetroNet » Wed Jul 4, 2012 6:26 pm

Nets get:
Milsap via S&T

philly gets:
Humphries S&T on 1 year expiring
Brooks or a future first

Jazz get:

Iguodala

nets get milsap, who is a UFA next season

jazz get the best player in the deal and flexibility at the PF spot for there young bigs

sixers get out from under iggys contract, free up room for turner, and add brooks or a first

is this realistic?

Dwill
Johnson
Wallace
Milsap
Lopez

wow.

If getting Iguadala was that King would have made that deal instead of getting JJ.

Either way I agree completely that Millsap would be the perfect fit for the presently constructed team. Brooks for Millsap could definitely be a starting point buy I don't know of there's a rush to make this kind of move until the deadline when we know what's happening with D12.

If AI was that easy to get I'm saying they would have done so and played him at the 2 as a cheaper alternative to the JJ acquisition.

JJ is the better fit at the 2, and the money is irrelevant as we're capped out in either scenario

It won't be irrelevant in 2 years when Jj is still on the books. I don't disagree that he's a better fit at the 2 for now but his contract is a lot worse than AI's

if we could get AI so easy we wouldve let gwall walk and be able to take on jrich's contract along with howard to make the magic more likely to pull the trigger... but idk whats better dwill, jj, gwall, tele, lopez or dwill, jrich, iggy, tele, howard... but whatever, i'd still rather roll with the current lineup with the possibility of howard than deal for millsap and close the door on howard

Making the point that there's almost no chance the 76ers would ever give up Iggy for just Brooks & Hump.

A better question would be...why not cut us out and send AI to Utah and THEY get Milsap????

A more simplified deal could be:

Humph (S&T, 1 year)
Brooks
1st

for

Millsap

Utah might do that if they feel they're definitely going forward with Favors/Kanter, Millsap expires in a year and he might not re-sign. Not saying its definitely enough but it's a reasonable starting point.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.
