What cap holds would those be? This all we got on the roster. No more. No less. I guess you could add a few more million for the 2013 draft pick, but until we actually draft some one, we won't know how much that is worth.

The great young talent in this league is locked up already (Rose, Westbrook, Durant, Love, Aldridge). Draft, Draft, Draft. Eventually, it'll sink in.

Signing Jameer means we are in "win now"mode. We are trying to win as many games as we can next season. We're not interested in developing young players as much as we are tyring to plug in mid-level vets who can help us win the 10th seed of the playoffs... Oh wait... there is no 10th seed. LOL.

How do you know this so you can state it so emphatically?

I agree and I am guessing we have screwed up Houston as a trade partner.

We ~know~ that? How do we know it?

It's awfully tough to prove a negative. Was part of it loyalty? Probably. Desperation? How was it desperation?

How about we wait until we're done, and closer to training camp, before we declare the offseason a success or a failure?

The overreaction from this board stemming from us resigning a solid starter to a solid starter contract (6 mill per) is hilarious. Also, I guess I missed the memo that Jameer is locked in to the starting position for the duration of his contract.

 give me a break you guys never change

No - we "just" know that. Don't confuse him with facts.....

You don't want him starting his entire tenure either.

Too bad.. we're paying him like a starter.

Hold dwight till the deadline let the market open up for him with teams willing to rent him for a run at a title.

Agreed. I was thinking he was going to get 3/21 so I am happy. Others will have to wait and see what other guys sign for (felton, sessions, lin) before they realize this was a good move.

BadMofoPimp wrote:The problem is Lopez or Humphries are NOT worth $10 mil per season each. Humphries being paid more than BBD would be an insult and take some of that fire out of BBD. Don't do it, Mr. Devos. Don't do any deal with the Nets. Any other team is fine, preferrably the Hawks. I like Teague and Horford.

In fairness, Humphries (who to be clear, I don't want and do not believe we could possibly need) did average 14/10. Lopez is good for nearly 20/6. Have you seen what some other free agents are signing for? Given what the screwed up market is paying, those are both probably $10 Million / year numbers, like it or not.

I'd still rather have Bynum.

There are cap hold for each position on the roster that is not filled yet (up to 12 spots). Some of us discussed this a few days ago.

So the Magic gave him a "solid starter contract" to be a backup?

The market for teams willing to rent Dwight will grow smaller, not larger at the dealine. It is as good as it is gonna get right now. The less games they have to rent him, the less interested they are in having him.

You can't fight an argument claiming someone doesn't have facts, when you don't have facts either. LMAO.

You're suggesting that Portland was gonna give Jameer a contract similar to what we gave him (and crticizing me because I don't have facts saying there WEREN'T) and that is more ludacris than anything I've heard here in a long time. If those numbers people are suggesting are correct, then Hennigan overbid himself. Period.

Was Rome built in 1 day? no. Was the Mayans civilization built in 1 day? No.

a good portion of people in here lack patience. Im fine with Henny taking his time. i rather have him take his time and do it right then take 5 mins and get it wrong and repeat.

But apparently the earth was built in 7 days...
And this is just one of 30 NBA franchises...
So if you do the math...
