It's becoming inevitable that the DH to BK deal is gonna happen.

Dwight to Rockets unlikely cause Lowry traded to Raptors.
Dwight to L.A. unlikely because L.A. got Steve Nash and is said to keep core together. Not sure why that changes things there.
Jameer resigned with Magic today.

A better turnaround here would have been to trade Dwight for Bynum trade everything else away for expirings, get a solid lotto pick, and sign a few free agents with your cap space.
Bynum
BBD
FA (Josh Smith)
Lotto pick (Shabazz)
FA (Monta)
That sounds like a good rebuild plan.
Man... it's a shame Henny had ALL OF THAT just sitting on the table in front of him and turned it down.

What this Jameer signin says to me is Dwight might stay
6 mill isnt that much and he coulda got it from another team that would be way better than a Dwightless Magic look at Jason Terry and his 5 mill and why would Jameer wanna be on a team that would be in tank mode if Dwight was gone

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXXII Off-Season Editio
The following PGs now make more money than Jameer:
D. Williams, R. Rondo, S. Nash, J. Calderon, B. Gordon (PG/SG?), G. Hill, D. Rose, C. Paul, J. Salmons, Devin Harris, Aaron Afflalo, M. Conley, B. Udrih, R. Westbrook, G. Dragic, T. Parker, J. Lin
That makes Jameer the 18th highest paid PG in the league. Seems right to me.

sure hope not, even if they had the best deal i still wouldnt want to send howard there cause i hate how hes handles all of this and i dont want to see him et his way. if he goes to bk then its a huge blow to all of us and the rest of the league for allowing this premadonna shat to happen.

Taxes, best contract he'll find, his family is settled here, his kid's go to school here (if they're in school). Ties to the community he's built over his career.
There's a ton of reasons to stay. Maybe Jameer just doesn't feel like uprooting his family in a desperate search for a ring.

It's a plan not stopgap. Jameer is a stopgap that helps nothing but the culture of the team. Considering most of this team will not be here in three years, what does team culture matter.

right. he still isnt that old to the point where he is desperate for a ring... maybe he feels like dwight is staying IDK... but id definitely re-sign here if i spent my first 8 seasons here and my family was established here

Yeah i heard about the Nash trade, and for only 2 first round picks, they were better off taking Shumpert.

Also, I guess I missed the memo that Jameer is locked in to the starting position for the duration of his contract.give me a break you guys never change
So the Magic gave him a "solid starter contract" to be a backup?
No he is the starter as of right now. But I don't think it's impossible that a free agent or a rookie could create a competition over the next couple of years. And if not, he is still a solid starter.
And his contract definitely wouldn't be bad for one of the better sixth men in the league.

they also got 2 second rounders... i agree though that shumpert was better for them because they need a 2... however they might be pursuing mayo in FA, and maybe nash wasnt really interested in NYK...
