NO WE DON'T! We can retain him for the season, bench his ungrateful ass, let him walk and put up a "good effort", procure decent draft picks from a lackluster season, and rebuild slowly.

I'd rather do that than placate a quasi-unintelligible narcissistic ass-hat by sending him to his preferred destination.

This. We can give away all our players, then tank while keeping him and just the young guys and hope he'll resign like Deron resigned with the Nets. After all, we can give him the most money. Nets won't be able to sign him, and the teams with capspace in 2013 aren't much more attractive than Orlando.

We DO NOT need to trade Dwight just for the sake of getting something back. Brooks, an overpaid Lopez, and a bunch of late picks are not attractive at all!

Wow ya'll keep going nuts over some reports, I'll wait for some facts before I flip out. Really the media flip-flops more than Dwight..

That being said, I do not see a possible deal with the Nets that will have me excited about next season.

Kidd averaged 6.2/4.1/5.5 in 28mpg (36% FG) last season and he is an upgrade over Nelson?

Yep I rather have Jason Kidd than Nelson, Kidd can make his teammates better and I like his contract.

Unfortunately, Dwight's public refusal to resign anywhere but Brooklyn has put us and other teams in a tough spot.

If I am the Lakers, I would be willing to take the risk on Dwight. Dwight would fit much better with the Lakers with the addition of Nash. The last thing a starting lineup of Nash/Kobe/Hill/Gasol needs is a scorer who needs the ball in his hands (Bynum). A starting lineup of Nash/Kobe/Hill/Gasol/Howard could make a deep run in the playoffs this year.

If LAL offers Bynum for an unextended Dwight, you take the deal and run.

Just think about this. If we had told Houston that we wanted to trade with them on draft night, Houston would have went out and got the 5th pick for us. And we could have had Thompson :( instead of Lopez.

How? They were just a game or two out of the playoffs right before the trade deadline. At best it would have been the ~12th pick.

No man Mar$waG is the 2nd coming of Kobe Bryant, who's the second coming of Michael "Air" Jordan. DUDE WE GETTING JORDAN. THIS SUCKS.

Not really a fair comparison. In McGrady's last year in Toronto, he put up 17-8-4 with 2 blocks and a steal when he started. I would pay top dollar for a 20 year old doing that. Marshon is 23 already and is coming off a season where he averaged 12-3-2 with no real defensive value.

That's still better than this package.

Better passing, better defense, better leader, championship experience, and would be a better tutor to our youngsters than Meer would be.

People are so enamored with Jameer's scoring that it blinds them from seeing the whole truth about his game.

T-Mac didn't have any defensive value either. And MarShon was a rookie last season.

Not to mention I was joking in my original post ;)

Don't forget Dwight's back, if he was sidelined i'm pretty sure that would have affected their record too

LOL Dude the Knicks signed Jason Kidd to be the backup PG and play spot minutes at SG. He is a great leader and veteran presence but you're definitely doing it wrong if he is your starter at this point in his career. 6/5/4....

I personlly think Dwight's people are putting out word that his back is recovering slowly and he might not be ready to start the season to poison the well. Then if we send him to the Nets he'll miraculously recover in time for the season.

This town is full of star-f***ers, if we field a team of Nelson, Redick, Brooks, BBD and Lopez the brand new arena will be half empty, even if we are a 7 or 8 seed. Then we might as well stink and aim for capspace and draft picks.

Can someone find trades that would be worst than the Nets deal in the history of the NBA? There may be a few.

False. Sac wanted Robinson and wasnt going to trade the pick if he was there at #5.

That's cause you're more interested in winning next year than trying to rebuild through the draft and clear cap space.

I refuse to believe the best we can get for a top 2 player in the league is Brook **** Lopez and Marshon. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
