Jermey Lin had his most hype playing with Landry Fields Bill Walker, Jared Jeffries, Tyson Chandler, & 6th man: Steve Novak.

Also Lin's overhype came from the national media, not just the NY media.

Toronto might get the 14th pick and then give it to us.

lol seriously what kind of (Please Use More Appropriate Word) offer was that... it didnt even put the Knicks over the Luxury Tax threshold... to match

wasnt Morey touted as a moneyball kind of guy...

he just handed Lin to the Knicks...

Rockets will get another lottery pick of their own and probably a high one for a team without a legitimate pg. So even the 14th pick from Toronto is just added gravy to trade up if necessary.

As one rival GM said: "Houston knows New York will match, but it will be more money for them in the tax distribution in three years."

Hahaha niiiice

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?

yeah there's no doubt New York is going to match that offer. It is definitely within their range.

Maybe you should reread that? Also, since they already have matched, there isn't really much doubt that they'll match anymore. ;)

I am really out of touch with salaries and numbers. Is this a bad offer? I don't want the Jerome James/Matt Cassel/Matt Flynn effect.

Jeremy Lin is an okay player, worthy of starting. I hope we are not offering prime Steve Nash money for him or something.

Edit: So Deron Williams just agreed to a $100m 5 year deal. You could interpret that as 4 years and $80m. If Deron is worth $80m for four years, then Jeremy Lin for $30m and four years is okay.
We have met the enemy, and he is us.
