Smilie suggestion?
What do you guys think about having smilies like the ones in my avatar and signature? Just a suggestion, thought it would be something different.

I think this is a great idea
I've been on several forums that have unique smilies to match the topic of interest and would love to see a basketball forum incorporate unique basketball smilies
think it would make for a more fun enviroment

Re: Smilie suggestion?
Exactly, this would make the smilies interesting. Tbh the smilies are kind of boring now.

Re: Smilie suggestion?
If the admins choose to do on it, if you guys don't know what to add, on a site I post on there was a thread where users would submit smilies and if the admins liked them, they would add them.
Here's some more:

Good idea, but I hope it won't happen. The reason is, the smiles are not used often now, I prefer not to see them, and I would really prefer not to see different NBA faces in messages all the time.

Re: Smilie suggestion?
I doubt we do it as well.
It would probably do more harm than good.

Re: Smilie suggestion?
Another board I'm on introduced a bunch of these kind of smileys, people pretty much communicate entirely in smileys now lol post quality went down the drain.

Re: Smilie suggestion?
It's not happening.
The GB is actually going to be changing soon.
Last year's policy did not go far enough and sometime during this offseason, I will be implementing something that will be totally different from any forum on RealGM.

I post on another forum that introduced these types of smilies and the post quality did not go down the drain.
But oh well I respect your decision HowardMass, at least I tried.

We are always open to suggestion but do not think this would be right for the forum.
Thank you for the suggestion though.

Just asking- You mean you're trying to cut down on the pointless threads/meme posts more than the last "rule changes" right?

Re: Smilie suggestion?
Thank god your not going to implement this, and i actually would actually like you to go a step farther and start issuing people warnings for just posting those stupid faces. If you look at the Ray allen to Heat thread on the GB smith2373 and Izzo spammed those faces without saying a word in their post.

Re: Smilie suggestion?
If we should get warnings for posting smilies, then anyone who posts smilies, gifs, memes, etc. should all get warnings too.
Hell, let's take it the high school direction, if you don't make a post that is at the minimum 5 sentences, you should get a warning.
