Ebanks Receiving Interest From Five Teams

Restricted free agent Devin Ebanks has drawn interest from a number of teams including the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, according to sources close to the situation.

The Los Angeles Lakers extended a qualifying offer to Ebanks last week, which means they can match any offer the small forward receives. The Lakers have been in contact with their 2010 second-round pick, and are hoping to re-sign him. Once Ebanks signs an offer sheet on July 10, the Lakers will have three days to match.

Ebanks appeared in 24 games last season, averaging 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Let him go to anyone but the thunder if they offer too much. match any reasonable offer. maybe sign and trade if possible.

With Matt Barnes not returning, he's poised to have an increased role no doubt.....but at the same time, if a team offers him a crazy amount we gotta just let him walk

I'd let him go. He probably wants to go as well. His minutes were too inconsistent. he went from starting, to back up, to dleague, to playing every now and then, to not playing at all for weeks, and then being put in only when someone was hurt or suspended. He probably just wants a consistent role on the team and i don't blame him. We can get a backup SF in Dorrell Wright from Golden State (he led the league in 3 pointers made a few years ago), plus Golden State doesn't want him any more.

Ya, why not let the young players go. Like this team is not old and slow enough as it is... :o

I think Ebanks needs a fresh start. He hasn't shown much here even when he had his chances.

with jackson, we learned much about young players, that they cannot help immediately. But need time to groom and grow and improve their games. even KOBE was very inconsistent his first few years. if we wanna win the chip, we must do it with experienced players. either give him the time to grow and improve? Or dont do it and release him. Thats up to brown and staff as to how they see his role. I personally have not seen enough of the kid to see anything. Maybe in a few years he can be the player we want for him to be.
