In return we get 3 to 5 1st round picks, Lopez (10 million) and Brooks. In total we take on about 12 million in salary. With Hedo and JRich gone, the Magic are still in position to have around 30 to 35 million in cap space to spend in the summer of 2013, along with a couple of 1st round picks. We would already have Nelson, BBD or KH, Nicholson, Quinn, Lopez and Brooks on the roster.

i agree with this....i don't see why people are so up in arms....Dwight made it clear he doesn't want to be here in Orlando....it has to end somehow....it seems people are not using logic and instead is letting their feelings cloud their judgement.......and don't want to make a deal simply out of spite.......The Nets route might be better than the Lakers route imo because the Lakers would try to fleece us and give us some of their trash.....

The Nets route if they can get a third team then things get a bit better for us....we get back young decent players and we get to unload our bad contracts but i will acknowledge that it's not the greatest deal in the world but as far as we know the Nets seems like they want to get a deal done and will try to accommodate us as best they can and the Lakers seem like they want to work an angle.....i could be wrong though...i could change my mind tomorrow...like Dwight

It has nothing to do with spite. This potential trade with the Nets is TERRIBLE! How does it help us going forward? I would much rather have Houston's young talent and draft picks...and Howard in the Western Conference.

That is why i said AS FAR AS WE KNOW....from what i've been hearing the Houston deal is off the table....Golden State is off the table as well.....Lakers may want Dwight and Bynum isn't that bad of a take but they also want to dump someone on us.....To me it comes down to this.....what is a better position? We can keep Dwight and let him walk which he will.....sure that comes off the books but we would still have Hedo/Duhon/BBD/J-Rich basically the bad contracts.....We trade Dwight...we get picks....we get rid of the bad contracts.....we get young decent players.....more importantly we become players in 2013 WITH a team of solid players at almost every position.....all that would be left at that point is to get one of those big time free agents in 2013 and we'll be golden.....what's the better position to be in to you?[/quote]

Where are you hearing the Houston deal is off the table. If that's true, Hennigan blew that one. And why? For a possible sh*t deal with the Nets?

That sign and trade Minny is possibly proposing to Portland for Batum is what we need to happen for Ryan if he decides to go to the kings.

I've gotten many complaints from twitter land, but I stand by my sources. We'll see what happens. Trade first reported by @Jackie_Pepper.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.

who should we take back?

http://aroyalpain.com/2012/07/05/sacram ... 6-million/

Sacramento Kings Planning To Start Jason Thompson’s Contract At $6 Million.

"The fact that the Kings’ starting offer is “only” $6 million could be the reason for the lack of progress between the two sides as Thompson is most likely waiting for a larger outside offer that would force the Kings’ hand to either match or let the former Rider product depart for greener pastures."

If they make an offer to Anderson that is higher than $6M per year, then perhaps Thompson would be willing to agree to that and we could pull of a mutual S&T.

C Andrew Bynum / Jason Thompson

BAM. Eases the concern about Bynum's knees.

we know the basic framework...Howard/Bynum. I want to know the secondary and almost as important parts of the deal. Like are we getting Ebanks? Sessions? are they taking Hedo or JRich? Somebody has to go off our roster and we have to get some other assests back.

What is the fascination with Ellis still?

One of the few scorers still available

There's a difference between a real scorer and a volume scorer on crappy teams.

Yeah... if this was just Bynum for Howard - would have already been done. There are clearly other parts to this trade.

WeAreVenom wrote:Lol, remember almost a year ago when we laughed at this offer? Said "I'd rather play out the season and risk him walking than trade him for a guy who will spend more time in a suit than suiting up!"

Now I can't even bear the thought of going through another season like last.........I don't think any of us, at the time, realized just how bad things could possibly spiral out of control.

It's time to put an end to this.

I see comments like this all that time here, and I cannot help but think, "suck it up you pansies." This notion of "not being able to bear another season like last year"... good grief. This is how you play in Today's NBA. If Hennigan deams that the best option is to hold onto Dwight, then I guess you guys are just going to have to cry yourselves to sleep til next summer. This is not just going to you. It's a general frustration when I see posters tremble at the thought of holding onto Dwight this season.

This move is going to choose a path that's going to set us up for the next decade or so. If patience is what it takes to get the best deal we can, then Hennigan better be patient and not just get something done to get it over with. Suck it up.
