Nash could play anywhere he desires. Who are we to tell him where to play? So, he chose a team us Suns fans despise the most, so what? Does he have a better chance winning a ring with Indiana, Raptors or Knicks? Hell no.

As far as effect on the suns and city.... Barkley could have been governor of az if he wanted to. He changed the whole city into a power house and a major draw. Nash was just here longer and was a stabilizer.

Best memories of sports was the 93 finals. No Nash team could touch that team. Barkley's numbers were insane!!

No more posts for you, bro.

Anyone who takes Nash before Barkley must have only been watching basketball since 2000. Barkley is one of the 50 greatest basketball players of all times. You realize he was only 6"4. Listed at 6"6 which was bs. Slightly taller then Steve Nash and averaged more then 12 rebounds a game. Could shoot with the left or right hand.

There is no diamondbacks or coyotes without Barkley making Phoenix an actual city with star power.

???

He went to Houston who had eliminated the Suns in two consecutive years.

Not sure if he asked for the trade though. Anybody remember?

I'll take Nash as the greatest Sun and Barkley as the better player overall.

I have been watching basketball since 1988 aproximately, and Barkley was my favourite power forward of all time. In the last years I have changed my mind, and now I think Tim Duncan is the greatest.

Barkley was exactly 6'4 3/4 barefoot, so 6'6 it was his real height with shoes. Nash is 6'1 barefoot, like draftexpress says, and with shoes he can be 6'2 but never 6'3.

In 1997 Barkley said, "I'm 6-4 3/4 [6ft 6] just sounded good coming out of college".. He also said "I claimed to be 6-6 when I played, but I'm only 6-5 1/2".

Ohhh, for me Nash is better than Barkley. Two different great players, but Nash is more exciting playing, pure technique.

Actually Barkley is quoted many times saying he is only 6"4. He use to get mad when he was listed at 6"6.

KJ, Majerle, Cedric Ceballos, Barkley. Those are my fav players of all time. I get very touchy when they are brought up.

My own opinion. Majerle was more popular then Nash ever was here. He had his own candy bar. And he still does more for Phoenix then Nash ever did. But that's just my opinion.

LOL

Barkley basically forced a trade out of Phoenix to Houston. and what was houston riding? they had won the 94 and 95 champ, and he joined two HOF players in Hakeem and Drex. it was CLEARLY the easiest path to a champ.

this was also the same houston team that eliminated us in 94 and 95 on their way to the champ.

and what we got were two players who CLEARLY did not want to play for us (Cassell/Horry) who forced their way out too.

so saying Nash tainted his legacy is foolish, ESPECIALLY if you are using Barkley as support

Return to Phoenix Suns
