He'd be crazy not to go after Camby.

We better go after Camby whether we get Ray or not.

We can't rely on Bosh to be our full time center. This team would be near flawless if we had a good rebounding and defensive big like Camby in addition to a shooter like Ray.

Could be too late.

I love Riley, but some of you guys act like he is incapable of making mistakes.

You know I was thinking the same thing  He could of gotten his career back on track here and worked with Zo. Plus he's like 7'3 and can block shots, rebound.

Have you guys not watched the finals? Where exactly does a guy like Thabeet fit in our offense or defense? We play way too fast for slow, plodding centers.

Playoff basketball slows down. That's when you need them.

At some point, the pace will slow down. Opposing teams will def try to slow the pace down. Teams like LA with Bynum, Gasol. Those guys kill us on the boards. We need centers who can try to offset them on the glass and contest shots. Now I realize that we're not the only ones who'll have to adjust but opposing teams have to adjust to us, but we should be atleast prepared for those situations. And doesn't necessarily have to be Thabeet.

Even our "slow" basketball requires quick/fast players. Our defense requires bigs who can move laterally. Which is hardly unique, given the rise of the quick PnR guard in the modern NBA

Thabeet has been terrible ever since joining the NBA. He's s not a project . He's a failure.

Hate KMart don't want.

I think Rashard Lewis is plan B. I don't think we ever had a realistic chance to get Camby. He's going to sign for more than the mini-mle.

but... we won the title without playing them against a team full of bigs. THEY had to adjust and bench their bigs. as much as it is intuitive to think that we get killed inside and on the boards when we play small ball it just doesn't happen because wade and lebron are excellent rebounders and our defense is way too fast to allow clean looks inside.

who really kills us inside? dwight gets his average against us, that's it. andrew bynum and pau gasol haven't done anything against us. roy hibbert didn't do anything when chris bosh returns (he doesn't get enough credit for his post defense).

The man has a point. The only reason teams were killing us was because we were lacking Bosh. Chandler, for example, didn't do much at all against us. When Bosh came back, KG was put in check. Porkins and Ibaka were pretty much irrelevant.

Our strength (incredible wings and dynamic bigs like Bosh/LeBron) is far greater than our weakness (Difficulty rebounding, difficulty post defending) such that other teams do have to adjust to us as well. I'm not saying that means we don't need a great center, everyone would love one! I think it simply means we don't have to just pick up whatever carcass seems like he wants to play with us regardless of whether he actually fits the team--and that if we're unable to get one, the sky has not fallen.

I've heard Camby wants the $3M that Allen is being offered. Don't know if he's going to accept the minimum.

Many of you are not going to give a F about this post, but I am going to post it anyway. Too bad.

This is looking to be the same thing as Fisher/Philbin with the Dolphins.

Majority of fans wanted Jeff Fisher based on name recognition, yet Jeff Fisher played the Dolphins to get what he wanted out of Rams. Minority of fans like me was pleading for us to ignore that loser Fisher, and go get Packers OC Philbin. Fisher passed on us, we got Philbin, turned out to be the perfect move for Dolphins.

Majority of fans want Ray Allen based on name recognition, nevermind the fact Shane Battier is better than him at this point in his career. Looks like Ray Allen left Miami without any committment, so he's playing us to get what he wants out of BOS. Minority of fans are pleading for us to get Marcus Camby from day 1. Allen looks like he will pass on us, and we get Camby, and it will be the perfect move for the Heat.

:)

Rockets beat writer:
Jonathan Feigen ‏@Jonathan_Feigen

Rockets center Marcus Camby to meet with Heat on Saturday, source said. Knicks next. Rockets unlikely, and not until after Asik decision.
