They are discussing final details with the trade kicker/no clause. Ray as a competitor does not like the heat, but has respect for them understandably. Allen will receie a number close to the 2 year 12 million dollar deal reported. Details will come out later today. Ray wants to end his career with Boston. The beef with Rondo is way blown out of proportion. Take this anyway you want but this news will come out.

Just to be clear, the source is an inside Celtic executive. I'd post this on twitter but dont have am account.

Wait, Celtic Thug is back!??!?!

EDIT

All joking aside, I hope you are right, but I guess we'll know later today because you said the news is going to be released today.

Not demanding respect, I'll receive it regardless when I break a couple of stories.

Ugh. Don't talk anymore, you're ruining your welcome. Info alone is good, no need to mention anything about getting respect. This isn't a hip hop forum.

Wolves in mean Ray is still angling... wants a 3rd year, I am sure.

It also means that Miami is increasingly looking like a ruse. Nothing to leverage or negotiate with them. It is 3yr/9m for a bench role, end of story.

Put yourself in VinBaker6's shoes: 50-50 scenario ahead of you, if you guess one way and confidently attribute the guess to an inside source then you have a 50-50 chance of being worshiped as an insider for a few weeks until you get a little too cocky and predict a Josh Smith trade that not only doesn't happen but has no chance of happening because of CBA rules. If you guess wrong, you still get 15 pages of Internet fame.

Who wouldn't want to live life in the fast lane like that, if only for the duration of halftime? What a rush.

Anyone can have an "inside source", you should have to back it up, at least privately to the mods, otherwise anyone can just come on and troll. Stuff like this not getting shot down really hurts the reputability of the board imo.

And I realize this is a more likely candidate of a post for getting moderated for 'backseat moderating'.

Nah man...we got enough "Lock Happy" Mods on this board....Let's keep this thread going...it's fun.

Well I will assume you don't mean me but this is fun who cares if it is true. I will have to lock if Ray signs in Miami because this we get out of hand as it probably already is but why not let this play out. Trades people try and keep secret nobody cares about FA signings that gets leaked all the time.

I want to know from some inside source why we jumped on Jason Terry if Louis Williams is going to be available dammit.

Why not just have this kind of discussion in one of the other Ray Allen threads then instead of enabling attention seeking trolls? And yes, this very well could be true, but the thread itself is still unverified. It just reflects poorly on the forums when you let topics like this go by unchecked.

I have been thinking the exact thing. I just don't think Danny will give him a no trade clause.

Out of all the things to talk about today, this is what you are locked in on? Protecting the cred of the RealGM from possible, but unconfirmed, insider info?

Don't need a college education to see that the longer Ray doesn't sign with Miami, the less likely he is to do so. All this is for negotiation, and given the limitations of their offer, it's not with them.

Or just flat out discredit him and don't let anyone else feed him by just locking his thread?

I personally come here every once in a while for recaps on actual Celtics rumors, not this garbage.

There's six topics on the front page of the Celtics forum where you could already be discussing Ray Allen, including a Ray Allen predictions thread where the OP belongs.

Sadly, the discussion in this thread is better and more informed than in many of those other threads, like the Jeff Green one.

Personally, I don't care about this guy's cred or where his post gets placed. To each their own.

Yesterday's Herald reported that Danny offered a no trade clause or a trade kicker if he comes back.

Nothing new on Ray Allen. He's back from Miami and is deciding. No plans to visit Memphis/Minnesota, though they & Boston still on list.
