Is Paul Allen heavily investing into one of the Indy team owner's businesses?

Have to wonder if that kind of crap ever goes on.

On a related note, has anyone heard any news on Caveman since he met with Indiana? I personally have not heard anything else.

Nope, not a word. I'll do some googling.

There's been a few things here and there.....

Bleacher Report (I won't be offended if you've already just skipped this paragraph) says the Heat have interest and may try and work a S&T with the Hornets for him. They also claim the Sixers are interested.

Ric Bucher says Mavs, Spurs, Kings, Pacer and Jazz all have interest and a serious shot at Kaman.

There are a few recent articles floating around with rumors of Kaman, but every article references Bucher's tweet as the source.

And for the record, I agree with Caravaggio that Hibbert is a much more impactful player than Dragic. But folks, we're here to discuss and not to attack.

I swear, since I've joined this forum I think that's about the 3rd time I've see you sneak Tycho Brahe into a discussion.

Thanks! Yeah, obviously the best news for us is if Indy offers him a deal. Him not agreeing to terms with any other team before the 11th seems to be the 2nd best piece of news.

Hey, any chance you get to insert a 16th century astronomer into an online basketball forum, you take it.

No prob, here's the link of Quick saying the Blazers believe they're going to get Hibbert. Skip to about 3 minutes in and let it play for about 30 seconds....

http://www.750thegame.com/common/global ... /68220.mp3

As for Kaman, considering he hasn't accepted any other offers yet is encouraging. It's no doubt that he'll get the most minutes and the most money with the Pacers if they let Hibbert walk.

The Mavs have Dirk and Haywood. He might beat out Haywood for the starting gig, but it's not for sure. Kaman and Dirk don't seem like a great pairing, so that would lead me to believe he'd be the first big off the bench.

The Spurs have Duncan and Splitter. Probably not starting there.

Kings have Robinson and Cousins, definitely not starting over either of those guys.

Then the Jazz are absolutely overloaded with big men and they don't seem to have much cap space, so that doesn't make any sense on any level.

I get the sense that Kaman feels the offers that are out there for him now will still be out there July 11th or 14th, so he's willing to wait for the situation he likes the best, which would seem to be the Pacers.

EDIT: I had to get in on the R&S Avy's as well.

International and the NBA are almost two totally different styles of basketball.

I honestly don't recall ever discussing him before, except at an in person event I did in Las Vegas three years ago that had absolutely nothing to do with the Blazers. Maybe someone else is fan of ol' No Nose?

Oh, and nice avatar Duster. It seems we have a theme starting to work here. I vote for d-train to take on Mr. Horse. Somehow the tagline of "No sir, I don't like it" fits :)

That would be true, but most of the FA's that could help either team are gone by now. By taking so long to make their intentions clear, they're losing out on FA's just as much as Portland is.

As I said in a earlier post here, the whole Hibbert situation is really interesting when compared to the other primer RFA's this summer, Batum and Gordon. I just can't get a good read on it one way or another to be honest.

You can't get a read on it because its Donnie Walsh. He puts up smoke screens all over the place and not even Indy's sportwriters know what is going to happen. Most of them (Conrad Brunner and MIke Wells) think he is gone but Mike Wells also had us taking Draymond Green in the draft.

FWIW Donnie historically overpays for his own players. See Austin Crosher and now George Hill.

You could never overpay for Austin Croshere, sir, how dare you!

Quite the dialogue in the last few pages eh? Ah the joys of pretending not to read select posts. 8-)

Sam Amick of SI is on 750 right now. He said he's reached out to the Pacers but gotten no response from them. He said he also reached out to Hibbert's "camp", they said it's still 50/50 on what the Pacers are going to do.

Seems like typical KP. As much as he talked, he had a tendency to keep quiet at particular times.

I'd say this is more Walsh than KP.

Definitely. KP was about as quiet to the media as a Kardashian. The big reason guys like Quick hated losing Pritchard was because he fed them rumors all day long. Maybe Pritchard has learned his lesson, but the Pacers being quiet on this situation is definitely not something that should be attributed to him from his past actions.
