Kenyon Martin

Post#1 » by Quake Griffin » Fri Jul 6, 2012 8:36 pm

Hi guys. New to the forum. Season ticket holder since 2000 and fan since then. Will be off to grad school in the fall so no games for me this year.

just wanted to know if anybody has heard any word on Kenyon Martin and where he intends to sign?
would be a great addition for us if we could keep him coming off the bench with Lamar.

Welcome to the board Quake :)

I haven't read anything about where he may sign, but many have said that he wasn't a fan of Vinny or his role. Supposedly, he refused to re-enter the last game against the Spurs when Vinny was going to sub him back in. With us signing Odom, front court minutes are going to be even more scare for back-up bigs.

I like him and wouldn't mind having him back for his defense, but I think it is unlikely at this point.

Welcome aboard Quake!

The L-O signing almost certainly means no more K-Mart on this team in 2012-13. If he were 6'11-7ft maybe he could backup DJ but otherwise consider him as good as gone.

Kenyon won't be hapy with the minutes available right now, and wasn't too pleased last season either. The team needs to sign a career backup big who issued to playing off the bench for 12-15 MPG and possibly sometimes not playing,

The added big would have something similar to Reggie's role in the last month of the season. He played 12 MPG and DNP for 5/14 games. Though if the big is a real C, he will probably get some minutes every night.

so it's looking like Hollins really is our best option right now.....

damn im gonna miss kenyon's defense and timely marksmanship off the PnR...no use in whining if he wants a bigger role.

KMart was a terrible shooter for us, and he wouldn't stop shooting. Maybe he'll find his touch somewhere else. Will miss his defense and effort, but he was a half-player.

It was his own fault that he wasn't brought back, he wanted a starting role and MLE back in summer, the Clippers aren't going to bring him in now, there are even less minutes available

I wouldn't really want him back on the team since he isnt a good free throw shooter. I'm down to maybe add a extra big, but somebody who could at lease shoot free throws, since are bigs have issues with that.

K-Mart has a scrub mentality. He will stay unemployed this season.

Frightening, my first thought was Solo Jones in this regard. meh
