Tor will make the PO, werent they on track before Andrea went down?

Now they add an outside scorer in Ross off the bench, a top center prospect in Jonas V.

AND

KYLE MUTHAF*CKIN LOWRY who apparently feels the best he has in years after that sports hernia surgery, WHICH affected him for the PAST two f*ckin years!!!!!

and we trade him at his lowest value in the past two years for a pick we most likely wont see til what 2017!?!

SERIOUSLY Lowry is gonna be a beast next year, and the Raptors could easily could beast mode as well.

Morey is supposedly known for fleecing rival GMs. How does ths trade rank on the fleece meter?

Thanks for the um, apology Don. It wasn't entirely aimed at you though. Your wording is confusing. Even in your retraction I can't tell you aren't saying to fire him without knowing that you said you weren't saying that :-)

At the end of the day, I remember Kyle Lowry as a beast mode point guard who also beaned a female ref with a basketball in the off season over a miss call.

The only miss play here was that Morey could've leveraged the 8th pick from Toronto now this year instead of a future pick down the road.

The thing is, Kyle Lowry was a starter on a average talent team for a year and a half. With the kind of physical talent and basketball acumen most starting point guard have in this league, if you run an offense through him, he'll make good numbers on okay percentages if his last name wasn't Alston. Darren Collision did okay when Paul shut down, as did Raymond Felton in NY, Ty Lawson in Denver, Dragic here, etc etc. The nicest thing about Lowry was his amazing contract. That's what makes him stick out in the second tier of point guards.

Maybe New York doesn't match, maybe the kid from Iona turns out to be much better than that kid from Marist. So long Lowry, fare well, and try not to lose your temper too quickly next time.

(Down the road, we're going to get stories from Bill Simmons from Morey as to why Lowry was traded. I'm envisioning something equally as perverse like Artest running around in his black underwear onto the ownership bus, but with a more Del Negro/Paxson bent.)

First off, a rebuild is never something easy for casual fans to accept. They see all these other teams spending big money and creating super teams and they say "why the hell can't we do that?! Fire Daryl Morey!" But if you really believe that our general manager hasn't been busting his ass to make a big splash, then your hatred for him is already too deep to change your opinion, most likely.

But a full rebuild is something completely necessary if you aren't able to lure a star player here to build around. So all of those people crying about losing Dragic and Courtney Lee, remember that you are the same ones saying that you were tired of dwindling in mediocrity. You have to get worse to get better, and when you're in a league that now seems to be driven by the players, the only way Houston is ever going to get that big building block is through the draft.

i don't like him ever since knowing he will be our gm
i did try to give him time
i didn't blame him when yao and t-mac aren't really healthy
but when t-mac is done and yao retired
i'm not sure what his target is
maybe it was les call i just don't know
maybe thibodeau coaching career will turn into disaster if he is the coach after jvg
there are just too many maybes

All I can say is I 100% agree with Cuban; it's far worse to sign the wrong player than it is to miss out on the right one.
We've never really been a huge FA draw city for obvious reasons (imo, NBA players don't focus much on math, or they'd like the no state income tax thing better).
Les had stated that we were going to rebuild on the fly because he hates tanking, and at his age and especially after the Francis years, I don't blame him.
Thibs was a defensive specialist, I think Les was also bored with no offense. You KNOW that 80% of this board hated watching JVG style offense.

Prior to this year, I think his goal had always been pretty clear: Try to improve as much as possible given the situations without blowing things up. Alls I know for sure is that I support Morey so vigorously not because I'm convinced that he's the best GM out there, but because I see how stupid most GMs are, still have nightmares about Carroll Dawson giving out 45m 5 year contracts to Kelvin Cato based on 2 preseason games, and in the words of every escaped convict in every crime movie ever, "I ain't goin back there man! I'll die before those pigs get me to go back!"

P.s. How did you like all the adding periods and one line treatment that I gave your post? :-P Neener neener!
Morey 2020.

Never said anything about firing him.

Hey guys, Raps fan here. I was wondering if you guys know of any websites where I can access your full games from last season. I need to prove to some idiots on our forum that Kyle Lowry is better than they think as I watched a lot of your games last season.

wow some raptor fans are not liking the trade?

It's Toronto's fault he had that infection. Rockets visited there March 7 and he got some Canadian Cooties and missed the next 14 games after that game (in which he only played 25 mins)
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

It was all part of our plan. This coming season we plan on infecting Paul George of the Pacers and then trading Aaron Gray and a second rounder for him.

Just checking to see what has been reported on the HOU front.

If Raps did somehow make the playoffs for 5 years straight, the pick gets covered to 2 2nd round picks? Is that what is being reported in HOU?

No.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Houston receives the Raptors draft pick next year if it falls between 4-14. If not, it must fall between 3-14 in 2014 or 2015 or 2-14 in 2016 or 2017 to come to Houston. If it never hits any of those ranges, the pick goes to Houston unprotected in 2018.

No. Get the pick as is in 6th season. RT @PaulHope29: @Jonathan_Feigen So if Toronto makes playoffs next 5 years, Houston gets nothing?

From confrence call with Colangelo today. pick is protected 1-3; 15-30 in first 3 years; 1-2, 15-30 in 4th year; 1, 15-30 in fifth year; unconditional in sixth

Return to Houston Rockets
