Antawn Jamison

Post#1 » by Eoghan » Sat Jul 7, 2012 5:38 am

Yo, Bobcats' fan here.

It's pretty much written in the stars that Jamison is going to be signed by Charlotte if he can't find a team to ring chase with so I was wondering if y'all would do me a favor and shed some light on the player we (might) be getting.

I'm not high on acquiring him b/c I hate aging stretch 4's not named Nowitzki but the majority of the Bobcat's board seem to be blushing over his "veteran presence," mentoring capabilities, and offense. I feel like we need post offense and rebounding way more but what do I know.

Thoughts greatly appreciated.

you can forget about "veteran presence" that can be a mentor. Jamison was a selfish chucker that was only concerned with getting a shot up every time he could. Also couldn't make free throws to save his life. very odd for a "jump shooter". My favorite offseason move so far for the cavs has been letting jamison GTFO. good riddance you bum!

Not sure that's a fair assessment.

The Cavaliers wanted him to score because no one else was capable.
I think he is a good influence. He came here ring chasing then the bottom dropped out on him and he was a good about it. You know he had to want to get out of here for a better opportunity but he kept a smile on his face and his mouth shut.

I think despite his age he still brings value. I'd be suprised if a contender didn't scoop him up. Its really about how badly he wants the cash. He could pick his spot on a min deal.

As for the player, sollid rebounder, effort rather than ability on defense, nifty around the basket, and an outside shot. Really the same player he's been for a long time. He's kept himself in really good shape.

Will score and get his 18-20 points on 20 or more shots. Use to be a pretty good rebounder but that seems to have fallen off, plays absolutely no Defense. He is one of the worse defenders I have seen in awhile. He will get you 18-20 again and give up like 30. He is a chucker to say the least he will jack it up not shy at all. Jamison is not what Charlotte needs but good luck with that.

Ps- Brother Dave whatever happend to Adam Morrison? Did Sean May eat him. Geez that picture says it all. Morrison looks like a stoner or convict and May looks like he eats anything in sight.

The games he scored efficiently we had a great record in. He will be good for you guys because you guys don't even have anyone who can score in volumes inefficiently, you guys mostly just have low volume low efficiency scorers so Jamison will be a bit of an improvement.

Volume shooter but thats what he is supposed to be. Disagree with fart as AJ was always praised by Byron for his vet. leadership.

I'm going to be very surprised if he can't find a team to ring chase on, keep in mind the guy still averaged 17/6 his last year here, not on the greatest efficiency however being often the 1st option on scoring without the legit 2nd option and without scoring options in general, this is to be expected.

Also, his vet presence is very valuable outside of the court also.

What happened to Ammo. Well, he tore his ACL early one year and when he came back from that, the thing that he hung his hat on, his shooting, was gone. Ammo with no shot and coming off of rehab is a pretty awful player since he never could play defense or doing anything else. So his confidence was crushed and he he became unhappy in Charlotte, probably b/c Larry Brown was making fun of him and hiding his dip or something since LB despises all rookies. So ever since he's been a practice squad/fringe starter in Europe. Supposedly he's found his game overseas and is trying to make the Nets via summer league. Hope so, I'm pulling for him.

Dave, I feel ya he reminds alot of a guy we had Luke Jackson. Those 2 can mirror each other in that they both had injuries (Jackson-Back) and they never lived up to expectations. Lets hope the Cavs do not bomb like that again, and hopefully your cats can get back as well I love MKG, Jordan finally got it right there, I think we were hoping to get em but ohh well.
