JazzFan here. Will you trade DERR-WILL for Milsap?

Post#1 » by Hoops Addict » Fri Jul 6, 2012 3:41 pm

JazzFan here- coming in peace to suggest a trade. Also- my friend Mike is Kevin Love's cousin...looks just like him. Love was awesome in college...and I KNEW he would be awesome, especially since he could shoot 3 pointers at the 50% rate. Much love for Love's game.

Milsap scores about 17 a game is our best player. We have a young guy Favors that is taller, and has a 7-5 wingspan.....great on defense.

I know you are not going to let Williams go for " less than he is worth ".

The Jazz have the same issue with Kanter.....as far as people suggesting Jackass trades that are not worth considering.

Kanter only got 10-15 minutes a game last year, like Williams. His offense used to work easily on the ingternational competition, but in the NBA everyone is great, so he must adjust all his moves and CHANGE them. Anyways...he is 265 with 5% body fat and nobody can shove him around...he is a beast and will average about 10-16 rebounds a game when he gets the minutes.

Would you trade DWILL for Milsap?

I think you would for James Harden, since that would fill a need.

Do the Jazz have any assets you would trade for?

Later!

I like Milsap quite a bit, but I think that if Williams gets moved its for a true SF or SG. I'm just not sure that Milsap is a SF - he's much more of a tweener. I think that being said, the Wolves probably don't make the deal though it's fair IMO.

In all of the Wolves-Utah games last year, I'm not sure I saw Kanter play. Must have fallen asleep or something...but I don't recall him making an impact play during any of the games. He's young, stick with him. It's Al Jefferson that I would trade were I the Jazz.....

The value is there but it leaves us with the same fit problem.

I would trade Williams for Milsap in a new your minute,as long as he understands that his role on the team is as the back up to Kevin Love and as our super 6th man.

If you could make it a three way trade, where the Wolves get Iggy, then it makes more sense. No real sense in having a player that good play a bench role.

Doesn't make sense for a straight up trade. I'd rather have Williams than Millsap. Millsap is a known commodity, I think Williams can and should get much better. He looks good -- slimmed down and I'm excited to see what he can do at the 3/as a back-up 4.

To me, Williams should be playing the 4 in the NBA, particularly on a "running" team. This can work in Minny if they are willing to play Love and Williams together at the 4 and 5. I think making him primarily a 3 is the wrong direction.

If you think the Williams pick is a bust, or if you're unwilling to ask Love to play significant center minutes, than Millsap was be a GREAT haul. Really, really good versatile big.

Williams and Milsap have similar value, but Milsap is due a contract and is not a good fit. Milsap would need to go to a third team where the value would come back to Minnesota.

I would trade Derrick Williams+JJ Barea for Enes Kanter+Burks.

Heck no. Pek>>>>>>>Kanter.
The only real piece I like on the Jazz enough to move Williams is Derrick Favors, who fits because he is the defensive big we are looking for. Every single other piece on the Jazz is redundant to something we already have (and like better),with the possible exception of Gordon Hayward, and Budinger is a very similiar player.

And as an unrestricted FA next summer Milsap's value takes a big hit, even though he's a good player.

I don't like Love at the 5. Also, Derrick Williams is a below average defender and pairing him with KLove playing at the 5 would be an absolute disaster. We should trade D. Williams for similar value and wish him the best, especially in a veeery deep PF position.

Pek>Kanter yes, but Kanter is 20. I'd see Kanter as a backup for Pek, he is an extraordinary rebounder ala Love. I can see:

Pek (30) / Kanter (18)
Kevin Love (36) / Back-up (12)

And yeh, i'd rather trade D. Williams for Favors straight up, but Favors was the central piece in the Deron Williams trade so I highly doubt they'd trade him for D. Williams.

Don't like Kanter. Rather have Williams than Millsap. Williams will be playing the 3 to start the season, which is a need. Rather see what he can do slimmed down than trade him.

Why? Derrick Williams > Derrick Favors.

Maybe Williams + Barea for Favors + Kanter?
