I'm going to be pissed if Miami didnt do a sign&trade for Camby because they didn't want to give up Joel "stonehands" Anthony

Miami's big pitch to all the free agents, the pitch the convinced Lebron, has been "family" and "sacrifice" etc etc. Everyone seems to have bought into it, because they all took below market.

Seems like a bad message to then turn around and trade away one of the team's hardest workers because they want to add someone who is not willing to make those same sacrifices.

Especially if the guy (Camby) isn't really a game changer...

I would not be so much against the S&T if we were able to find a good back up center (bringing back Ronny?) but Houston wants picks/talent/expirings. The only expiring we have is JJ. However, they are rumored to be interested in Cole/1st Rounder among other things we are not completely sure about.

whilst i agree with the "stonehands" analogy. I'm pretty sure Miami are ok with giving up Joel, it's Cole they don't want to part with. and part of me thinks that we probably want to hold on to that 1st rounder. i could be wrong but if we did our homework which we've got all year to do we could pick up a handy future player/trade piece in that draft. im not so blindly sold on Camby to just bend over and submit for him. would he be a good acquisition? of course! but is he really a must have? i dont think so.

Camby's Miami days are really all hinged on MM from the way i understand it.

If he sucks and he has dropped off that much due to getting busted for PED's or whatever the hell is was he was doing, we can bench him/trade him. If he breaks out and plays for that next pay check with confidence and determination, it will be soooo good for us. A steal. Especially if we used him as the stretch 4 Orlando used him as in 2009.

Come on over, Shard!

Camby, I know you want a paycheck, but for you, your agent, and every other center out there, you guys know how much the Heat can offer you $$$ wise plus no state tax. We cannot bend back that far over and give up too many assets, especially one's key for the future like Norris Cole and a mid-1st round draft pick. So, don't expect us to bend back too far over. Many people have made sacrifices to be in this team:
- Wade
- James
- Bosh
- Haslem
- Miller
- Battier
- hell, even Jones
- Allen
These guys want to be a part of something special and had to sacrifice. Last June, they reaped the benefits of it (except Ray, of course). So, if you are not that person, then thanks, but no thanks.

pretty good

Pittman just needs to hold his own

Who'll pay him though? I think we have a good shot at bringing him back. If we can bring back Turiaf, and bring in Rashard, we can call it a day on a damn good offseason.

Interesting tweets from Skolnick:

@EthanJSkolnick: Be wary of reports about whom the Heat won't trade. Plenty of times, those have been followed by players getting traded. Always fluid.

@EthanJSkolnick: But Lewis and LeBron would be playing so much "power" forward, that it's not like Miami needs as many. Don't rule out Turiaf return either.

@EthanJSkolnick: If Miami signs Lewis but not Camby, its "bigs" will b Bosh, Anthony, Haslem, Pittman. Will look 2 add one veteran body to compete w Varnado.

STAY tuned, this is a reactionary league, he'll get paid - IMO - he's being smart though, waiting everything out.

Turiaf is never healthy. I love the dude, but he is never healthy. We don't need him. We can just hope Pittman has developed into something useful.... PEACE.

In the end, Camby will take more cash from whichever team between Indy and Portland doesn't sign Hibbert. This is a goose chase.

If we just give the kid a REAL chance, mistakes, fouls and all - young kid already on your team, CHEAP - how can he hurt us...Give him regular minutes, let him make his mistakes the first 20-25 games, HOW can he hurt us? Wouldn't he be safer than a brand new Center trying to come in and learn how we play Center?

Pittman was playing well during that last part of the season when given minutes. Then Spo decided to bench him during the playoffs. Hopefully Spoelstra has a little more faith in him this season but I'm not counting on it.

True, but it was also a weight thing. Dexter still wasn't as mobile as he could be. during the playoffs run he lost ALOT more weight. in training camp he'll get in even better shape. I turly believe he'll be a solid Center for us.

BTW - you know what's crazy? none of us is talking about Miller, we kinda assume he won't be significant for us. yet he's the fourth highest paid guy on the team. That's just unbelievable. can u imagine if we could trade him with the Philly pick and a filler for someone like Emeka Okafor?

It's amazing that our fourth highest paid guy doesn't play and we dont even care because we got all these other talents.
