EDIT: They might actually play that.
At least 1 of Martin and Scola will be gone soon if not both. Aint no half-ass tanking over here.

Doubt it. You need some veterans to show the new guys the ropes. I don't want to see a entire team of under-25s just thrown out there and get devoured. That's how you make the Kings or Bobcats.

Noel, Zeller, Adams,Austin could all be star-superstar centers.

And then you will get the number 2 pick again... shux.

That said, the rockets, as is, will probably be worse than the Bobcats so its ok, you can be the second worst and get the number 1 and be happy on all fronts *thumbs up* :D

I think Morey's plan is to sign both Brooks and Sessions, let them pad their stats in the same system Lowry and Dragic did, then flip them for lottery picks lol

3 years from now, your all gunna be calling him a genious. I think its smart to gather young assets and tank for a top pick. If they cant trade or sign a superstar, then you gotta draft one.

you are underestimating the masterfulness of Morey's plan.

Think about the flexibility! The misdirection! On any given play any player can play any position! You want to guard Brockman with your PG? Fine! Patterson will bring it up, and kick to...just whoever feels like spotting up on that play. And on defense, think about it! Switch everything with no dicernible effect! You are completely immune to foul toruble, since it doesn't matter at all who is on the court. In fact this finally may be the ultimate name on the front instead of name on the back NBA team. In fact they shouldn't even bother putting the names on the back. They all wear the same size jersey anyway, so just have them swap them at will and take whatever jersey comes out of the wash first. Think of the confusion for the opponents. If its legal to play wihtout numbers you could take those off too and confuse the refs too so nobody would ever foul out. Its typically Morey brilliant.

How epic would the Brooks thing be. Trade him to Phoenix for a lotto pick, sign him back, then trade him for another lotto pick.

Its pretty solid actually.

Only team in the league who can snag a Dwight trade and become instant contenders and also tank to be really really bad.

Best GM in the league.

I've always liked and respected Morey and as a Raps fan like him even more after the Lowry trade, but these moves are mystifying... still, let's just see how the 'plan' plays out before bringing out the pitchforks...

Their direction is obvious. They want to acquire young talent and draft picks while removing undesirable long term deals. He's basically doing what Ainge did in Boston, but without Paul Pierce.

You need to be really bad before you can be good in the NBA. Morey knows you need studs to win in this league, and studs come from trading young players and picks or by drafting high in the lottery. You don't get studs by being the Milwaukee Bucks of the West.

They will destroy the Bobcats with their army of PF's. The DerpCats have no answer for all that size.

Plan? More like a gamble. He has no "plan". The word plan insinuates that he expects a series of things to happen/fall into place. Who's to say they are able to put together a trade that Orlando likes? Who's to say another team doesn't get Howard first? Or even if they get him, who's to say that Howard will sign an extension.

Collecting assets to 'get bad' in position to increase chances of high lottery picks is one thing, but why throw all that money at players like Asik?
