Been a fan from the Stephon Marbury years, although I'm sure my lack of an avatar and low post count don't really do much in the way of "proving" that LOL. My take on bandwagoners is that...well, we kinda need 'em. Let's be real, the fans are gonna have to come from somewhere if we want a great home crowd and team following, and since everyone starts following a team somehow or some way, I guess I'll have no problems with them. Just so long as they don't act like they came here before the Brooklyn days if we start doing well.

We should change our sigs so we all match and can see the "true" Nets fans by changing our sigs to, "I survived 12-70"

haha only joking obviously

its not even the 12-70. sure that was abysmal and it sucked watching us get killed every night... but i mean... we expected that team that was purposely tanking to suck. missing out on the #1 pick after and all the good free agents was worse then the 70 losses.

how about petro's tragic death?

how about drafting 2 cant miss superstars in kenny anderson and DC and having them be the 2 biggest dogs in league history?

how about Ed obannon and yinka dare?

how about "33 all alone"

Bandwagon fans beware. Come in peace, learn your ****, and don't talk smack...especially if you can't back it up because we don't tolerate any of those things here.

Otherwise, welcome.

I've been a fan since Van Horn was drafted, and I feel the same way. The more fans the better. Maybe we'll actually start getting more respect out of sports writers and ESPN.

I'll take them with open arms, but expect E to flog them with no remorse whenever they step out of line. :tooth

I don't mind people from Brooklyn switching to become Nets fans, but it's the ones who switch or start paying attention only because we are good who I can't stand.

Fair weather fans are the worst.

Aren't like 70% of the nets fans on this board band wagoners? I mean how many nets sigs/avatars were on real gm a year ago compared to how many you see now?

Well, that's not really fair, is it?

I joined this site two or three days ago, and one could label me as a bandwagoner. No one can know for sure, how long I've been a fan - or any of the other newcomers. I would think the ammount of the "new" Nets fans, is a combination of several variables, which you can't name.

For me, it was just a matter of time - I was on the bbb.net forum in 2005 (I became a Nets fan back then because the Nets drafted another Dane, Christian Drejer) - and I've spend hours reading this forum - and Netsdaily.com. The Netsdaily forum is not worth much though, and the news on Netsdaily reaches 1000+ comments in no time - that's too much!

I would like to discuss Nets/Basketball with other Nets fans, and I just got to the point, where I couldn't wait any longer. There was to much going on.

I think it's unfair to label people - no one should be in a position to judge people, and decide who's worthy of calling themselves Nets fans, and who's not. At the end of the day, as long as You stay a Nets fan, that's really all that matters.

And you know what? These socalled bandwagoners? They are the clear evidence, that the Nets are no longer the laughing-stock of the NBA. We are relavent once again. And this time, we are going to stay on the top for many years to come.

Finally: I hate the Knicks. I hate Knicks fans, I hate Knicks announcers, I hate Fat Melo. I.. Well... I just hate the Knicks...

Im a bandwagoner myself. Been a fan since I learned they were moving to Brooklyn... However I think everyone was a net fan when they had that lineup up Kidd, Kittles, Jefferson, Martin.

That's a bad way to look at it. I've been a fan since 97 and only found out about this site earlier this year. I've been lurking on ND forever just looking for news updates and been playing with Nets lineups on the NBA 2K games since Dreamcast.
