Grizzlies first round pick.

Post#1 » by miggysworld35 » Sun Jul 8, 2012 1:14 pm

I have a question about the Grizzlies draft pick that we acquired from the thabeet trade a couple years back. Have we used it already if not when will we receive it?

We traded it to the T-Wolves to move up from 23 to 20 in the 2011 draft and select Motiejunas. Also got rid of Brad Miller and received Jonny Flynn, who then later was packaged with Thabeet for Camby.

i thought we traded the Suns pick from the Brooks/Dragic trade to Minny
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

According to realgm,

The Timberwolves own the 1st Round Pick (via Memphis) which we acquired in the in Battier/Thabeet trade. It was traded to Minny when we got D-Mo:

"2013 first round draft pick to Minnesota
Memphis' own 2013 1st round pick to Minnesota via Houston (top 14 protected in the 2013 Draft, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015, and top 14 protection in 2016 Draft). If Minnesota via Houston has not yet received this first round pick by the 2016 draft, then so long as Memphis' own 2016 2nd round pick is among the top 55 picks then Minnesota via Houston shall instead receive (1) Memphis' own 2016 2nd round pick and (2) cash. If, however, Minnesota via Houston has not yet received this first round pick by the 2016 draft, but Memphis' own 2016 2nd round pick is not among the top 55 picks then Minnesota via Houston shall instead receive (1) Toronto's own 2016 second round pick via Memphis and (2) cash. [Houston - Memphis, 2/24/2011 and then Houston - Minnesota, 6/24/2011]"

As far as the Pheonix pick from the Brooks/Dragic trade.

"Rockets receive the Suns's 2011 first-round pick (Lottery protected in 2011, under this circumstance the Rockets will instead receive the Suns' acquired 2011 first-round pick via the Magic) (Aaron Brooks trade 02-24-11)"

So in the 2011 draft we did acquire Orlando's 1st Round Pick (23rd overall). We then used it in the trade with Minnesota & Chicago that night.

• Rockets get: Jonny Flynn, rights to Donatas Motiejunas (No. 20 overall pick); Chandler Parsons (reacquisition via the No. 38 overall pick)
• Timberwolves receive: Brad Miller; rights to Nikola Mirotic (No. 23 overall pick), 2013 first-round pick; rights to Norris Cole (No. 28 overall pick)
• Bulls receive: Rights to Nikola Mirotic (from Minnesota)

So the only picks we are credited are a 1st Round Pick via Dallas which is

2013 first round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' own 2013 first round draft pick to Houston via the L.A. Lakers ( top 20 protected in 2013, top 20 protected in 2014, top 20 protected in 2015, top 20 protected in 2016, top 20 protected in 2017 and unprotected in the 2018 Draft). [Dallas - L.A. Lakers, 12/11/2011 and then Houston-L.A. Lakers 3/15/2012]

A 2nd Round pick via the Clippers and whatever we get from Toronto for Kyle Lowry.

Send all picks to Sacramento for Chuck Wagon.

No one else is going to save this ball club, "especially Darryl Morey!!!!!"

Return to Houston Rockets
