At 30 Deron will clearly be in his prime. You don't know what you're talking about. If Steve Nash can win his MVPs after 30 then Deron can clearly be in his prime at 30. He will remain a top 3 PG for sure.

You don't watch enough of Deron. He does not play recklessly at all. And rather 31 and 31 year old JJ and Wallace then 40 year old Nash and 34 year old Gasol. We don't have to use the full MLE. Plenty of players will be happy to take 3 million.

They don't have to win a title to convince people to come. Players come to conceding teams all the team. Look at Nash coming to you guys.

Overall, the argument that a player at 30 is past his prime has no backing. All of the past 5 champions except Lebron were lead by players past 30.

We can easily reload with veteran minimums and MLE players who would love for the chance to play with Dwight and Deron in their prime.

Nash is an all time great shooter and probably the most influential floor general since Magic when it comes to fueling the offense. Deron is a guy who can muscle his way into lanes and occasionally spread the floor. The difference in their shooting and how they orchestrated their offense is so vast Deron will need to make adjustments to his game if he still wants to play like a top 10 player past 30.

Deron isn't reckless, but his game does predicate a lot on driving through the lanes like a bull. He can shoot the ball but is hardly elite at that department. His style of play will wear him down quicker compared to CP3 and Nash, and we will see where his playmaking lies once he has a full season with a competent roster without Sloan.

Even if Deron manage to stay in top shape after two years, JJ and Crash by then would be closer to your average starter than a star player. Deron + Dwight + role players isn't going to get it done, and the Net's payroll is going to get even more ridiculous than the Knicks in the Isiah days that improving the team would be next to impossible. The Lakers may not have much on the team anymore by 2014, but they would finally have caproom to be a player in free agency to reload and help Dwight. If Dwight goes to the Nets then after two years they have nowhere to go but down.

larry coon reported this earlier, wonder if AK is just rehashing it. I've yet to see an actual link to the post in question however, you'd think this being the internet and all that it would be possible to add as a source. At least a screen shot of it, "reporters" b slackin.

RT @E_Money18: Are you also hearing Magic are close to accepting Nets deal? ---> Not from what I am hearing.

In other news, the #Magic have not had any discussions with Andrew Bynum or his agent about a possible extension.

The #Magic would not acquire Bynum without getting a sense he would at least be open to remaining with #Orlando.

Feels like the Lakers would only take a swap. Thru are in tax hell now with a hedo or jrich its gonna be worse. They are perfectly fine "settling" for Bynum

Bynum wants to be the man on the team. He'd clearly be that in Orlando.

Losing interest in Dwight by the hour.

If the Lakers upgrade their bench, they become legit contenders. They don't even need Dwight so it's really not going to bug me at all if they don't get him. It would be nice since he fits in better but I'm confident the current core is good enough to win.

why would Cleveland want Kris Humphries?

I thought that is what is going to the third team in order to try to get a first rounder

With the way they have drafted in the past 2 seasons they might as well trade a future first round pick to another team.

Maybe Cleveland was sick of Lebron winning a champsionship and don't want to see it again?

its not even that. Humphries is underrated imo and worth a first for many teams

Cleveland is not one of them with Tristan Thompson, Varejao, and Zeller underneath right now.
