he just has to wait until Howard is dealt before he signs an extension.

and in the meantime, we get Brook Lopez.

LOL.

Bynum went from posting a tweet of "How do yall think I look in blue" to "I'm not resigning in Orlando" in a few hours? I'm not buying it. Orlando is sunny like Cali, can pay him more money and has no state income tax. Why would he take less money to go to Cleveland or Dallas when he can be the man here.

It's false rumors put out by the media to make us all think Lopez is about to be traded for Dwight. All lies...lies I tell you!

it's from sources. a direct quote would be bad for business.

Dirk has a no trade clause so that deal would be dead before it started. Why would we want Dirk any way? He is an aging star and we are obviously in rebuild mode with Howard gone.

cos we just traded Dirk 2.0 to the Hornets.

if we're in "win-now" mode, we might consider this. Dirk would give us a short window. he's already shown he can beat Miami. in fact, if we can find a way to get a decent defensive C next to him, he could probably lead us to a pretty good regular season record.

I swear if Hennigan trade Dwight Howard for Brook Lopez, he better have a stellar run for the rest of his tenure here, because that is getting off to a terrible start.

Hennys hands are tighed here. This is pry the best offer we are getting...Bynum is not willing to extend with us yet and NETS are willing to take back our bad deals. I don't blame this on Rob..he was dealt a bad hand with this

Agreed - This is on D12 -- he backed the organization into a corner with his Nets only demands.

It just doesn't make sense ..

We don't keep Ryan cause he's too expensive, but we want to trade Dwight for a package centered around ~12mil/year Brook Lopez, late 1st-round picks & a guy who calls himself the next Kobe Bryant :-?

And to prove how bad the Nets' offer is, the 3rd team wants a sweetener to take their garbage?

Really, there has to be something behind all this. There's no defending this deal. Rich DeVos won't survive this ..

Might just be New Jersey thinking they have a deal by getting assets. We still have to agree to the crap they are sending us.

Just want to toss this log on the fire... when Bynum was linked to Orlando last season his camp loved the idea of trading places with Dwight

I refuse to believe Henny would be stupid enough to start off his Magic career by turning the Nets, an eastern conference team, into a championship contender for the next 5+ years... it's not like we'd be exchanging stars.

Yep. Hennigan is looking at all the crap and trying to make the best sandwich he can. It's not his fault if you can still taste the crap.

The concept was 'look at what Dwight became there'... with Stan Van gone, and so much uncertainty about the direction of the team

Cleveland has cap space to sign Hump outright and showed no interest in doing so. Nets need some serious sweeteners

Looks like it's almost time to change the screen name.

F!!!! Bynum and the Lakers. That wouldn't be the best trade in my opinion. Yes Brook isn't the greatest center but as long as he comes with draft picks and a salary dump, I'm in. Time to rebuild...follow the OKC model and the dynasty will come.

No they aren't giving us all of that. We aren't getting cap space and that is what seems to be the hold up and why the Nets are going crazy trying to find a team who will take KH, Hedo and JRich for nothing. I'm sure Rob will take Brooks, draft picks and Lopez for Howard. That already saves us 8 million in cap space, but he also wants to make sure we get rid of an additional 12 million.

He wants, IMO, to be a player in the 2013 summer.
