Hah, I have a friend in Brooklyn who's been a lifelong Suns fan who I'm going to try and convert to a Nets fan.

I've actually known about this site for about 3 years and have been a constant reader of the forums, I just never made an account until now. Before my time in Brooklyn I was Suns fan (Yes, a dude from Brooklyn was a Suns fan. I've been a Suns fans for forever and been through everything thick and thin from the finals loss to the Horry hip check to the last second shot by Artest in game 5 of the 2010 WCF after we came back 20, you name it I've been through. Even after Amare left for nothing left for nothing and all my friends/family were telling me to switch teams I said no, I'm gonna be a Suns fan forever, that however has changed smh.

As you guys know Nash was traded to the lakers a couple days ago and I never saw it coming at all. I have always pulled for the knicks/nets so i was hoping for him to sign one of those 2 places. I very well knew he was going to leave, him leaving was no problem to me, I even was ok with him joining miami. But instead, he ripped every Suns fan heart out and went to the lakers in a sign trade so both he and the team had to agree on it. So emotions went through me, I wanted to cry. How could Steve do this to us? The same guy who was our hero and had so many battles with the Lakers turned his back on us. The team also turned his back on the fans by agreeing to the trade. Yes I know he supposedly did it to be closer to his kids but I dont care, you NEVER look at the enemy for help and as a team you NEVER trade to a division rival who is 1)better than you and 2)you've had so many battles with. My "team" let me down drastically over the years, you let amare walk for free and now this? I'm DONE. Nash pulled a somewhat of a Lebron, somewhat of a Brett Farve to but worse, he forced himself to the enemy and rival lakers.

Nash was my favorite player since Penny Hardaway but I cant and refuse to root for him anymore, I hate him now, I hate him just as much as I hate kobe and the rest of the lakers. What he did will NEVER be forgivable me and hope and pray that he NEVER gets a ring the rest of his career.

I know I've ranted alot in this post but I had to let it out, I'm sure people who lived in phoenix are feeling 2 times as worse as I am and that"s real bad. Brooklyn (Flatbush) has been my home since birth and I live it here. Even while I was Suns fan still I thought it was great that the Nets were coming back home and that the competition between the Nets/Knicks would be great and exciting. I've been pulling for this team from since I heard they were moving back to Brooklyn, watching and following up every chance I get. I may not know every last bit about the team but I know alot from Drazen to Derrick Coleman to drafting Kenyon #1, etc. I get really excited for the future looking at this team, JJ DWill Crash and Brook Lopez, Teletovic, Marshon could really win some games and be a great team. I really hope and pray we get Dwight even though it'd mean parting with Brook/Marshon/picks, etc. Those players are great and potentional but this is #DaWhite we're talking about. With the whole nash situation situation at hand I thought, why not be a fan of team in your own backyard, who is obviously trying to win and the front office is giving their all unlike Robert (cheapskate) SarverAnyways I hope you guys will welcome me to this board with open arms and not bash me for "bandwagoning". I'll end this post these last few words.......#HelloBrooklyn #HowYouDoin? 8-)

Still in shock that we're finally in double digits

Anyways, welcome OP. Make sure you kiss the ring of RR and JJ, otherwise you can't be fully initiated into this prestigious group

I guess I was a bandwagon jumper in 2001 but to be fair I did root for the nets that whole year and not only when I saw that they were good.

Lol glad to see I'm not the only Suns fan that converted. I feel like you should be as loyal to your team as you are to you, the front office of Phoenix and Nash weren't loyal at all

That's actually funny because on twitter people really believe that I was the only Suns fan ever in Brooklyn. They used to "fans" around here in 04-05 but I only know one now

Welcome aboard, man. The more Net fans we have, the better. I'm new to RealGM too but was a lurker like you for a few years.

I know it probably will never happen now, but what if Nash somehow became a Net one day? LOL what would you do? That would kinda be like a Yankee fan situation in '06 when some Yankee fans said they will have no reaction, positive or negative, to anything Johnny Damon did well for us.

Welcome YXB!!...

As you can see, this board can get pretty crazy. We've always had a minority complex considering that before the official move to Brooklyn, our RealGM fan base was pretty small. If fans from other teams (especially teams in big markets with large fanbases) come on our board to attack us or make fun of us, you can expect a memorable response from us. We always protect our board.

Regarding 1)Nash and 2) Avatar and Sig policy:

1) I am in the same boat as you when trying to figure our why Nash decided to go with the Lakers. Laker fans don't have the same hatred for Suns fans that Sun fans have for the Lakers and Steve Nash must've known that.
And to pour even more salt in the wound, Sarver actually agreed to do the deal. I know he resisted at first, but I don't see why Sarver couldn't have said "any team BUT LA". The fact that Nash requested to go to his team's #1 rival in the league and Sarver ok'd it was really mind-blowing to me.

Although, I honestly believe that the Nash deal affected ORL's position regarding trading D12. Before PHX S&T'd Nash to LA, ORL was adamant that they were not going to trade with us. However, I believe that once they saw PHX willing to do an S&T of their main star player for a couple draft picks and to their #1 rival in the league as well as in the same division, ORL believed that any deal they did with us wouldn't be bad as what PHX did.

I actually don't blame Suns fans for jumping ship to another team because management and Nash basically said stuck knives in the hearts of all PHX fans by just even considering the trade, let alone actually letting it happen. Again....welcome aboard.

2) The rules regarding sig and avis just changed recently. Here is the link where Howard Mass, the main site admin, tells us what the requirements are for sigs and avis: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=1180062

I'm happy people do see it my way. I don't condone bandwagoning at all but like I said, the teams hero & front office betrayed us fans first and was not loyal. If Nash went anywhere else I wouldn't have been a nets fan now.

How would you have felt if Nash went to the Knicks?

If he went to the knicks I would've welcomed it. I really felt it was either there, Toronto or Miami which I would have prefered NY over all for obvious reason
