This goes down as the knuckle head move of the year. This franchise has disrespected OJ in every capacity, yet he has produced and sacrified minutes and points.

First we trade him for Josh McRoberts, now we just let him go?????

The obvious issue on the court last year was Gay and Randolph are not a good fit for each other. Mayo was the perfect compliment.

Whats worse? That or the fact that we extend Arthur, who can't even get on the court due to every freak injury in the world.

I'm a big advocate for resigning Arthur because I think that he brings the much needed athleticism that we don't have in the paint.

Still, Boogies point is well taken. There was no reason that we should have disrespected Mayo like this without getting to the heart of the problem. (namely the lack of chemistry between Randolph and Rudy Gay) We should have at least tried to resign Mayo and then made an offer for Arthur. Why do we need Arthur and Speights?

I was talking to one of my co-workers about the situation. We came to the same conclusion that the Grizz will regret letting Mayo walk. Especially considering that this guy is capable of producing pts on and off the bench. The guy is a scorer at heart and is effective at doing the job. The Grizz will regret letting OJ walk.

As for Arthur, although he has improved his game when healthy. His durability is extemely questionable. His history of injuries makes my concerns more valid to is he worth the QO from the Grizz.

I get resigning the bigs, but Arthur is an injury waiting to happen. He's almost on that Greg Oden path. Tons of potential, but can't get on the court.

To just let Mayo walk??? Or we just trying to cut salary???

Why not pick up the option and trade him for a pick and cut salary that way???

At least that way Heisley doesn't look like a bigger dumbass and cheap skate.

they must have very high confidence in attracting a top talent replacement for cheaper to let him go. it would be the largest free agent signing in grizzlies history ***.

*** - not counting Allen Iverson fiasco, which was fraught with risk from the start.

just try to sign Ray Allen to replace him. If not, try Leandro Barbosa. There, scoring punch from the bench and outside shooting added

i like it, if not we can go for rush or lee, but ill try to get Barbosa, veteran combo guard. Crawford is also a posibility.

I like your resigning Speights for two years/ 9 million. I would love a player like that on the Clippers for that price. We have Ryan Gomes...

also I look at what 76ers pay for Nick Young and Spencer Hawes and laugh my ass off. getting Speights for below avg salary is amazing. He's not a star but a damn solid guy who plays 4/5, rebounds, and scores at will.

I think Young got more money because he sacrificed some security for a bigger one year deal.

Regarding OJ Mayo, maybe it would have been better to keep him and trade Rudy's huge contract for some cap space and useful pieces that better complement the team.

The Grizz proved they r commtted to Rudy by putting OJ on the bench and left him at the bus stop.
