Let's see if this is the typical Marlins.
Sucking ass in June but they get back on the right foot.
They have to start winning every series again to make the playoffs.

Is Heath Bell the worst MAJOR signing in Miami history? Can you name a bigger flop?

I can't think of anyone paid as much as he is playing as badly as he does. I wanted to say Marshall, but even he broke the 1000 yard mark. I want to say Culpepper, but we got him for a 2nd round pick. That wasn't so big a price given how bad we were at drafting. I want to say Jermaine O'Neal, but I don't think we paid him that much. Even Mash was more good than bad in his stint here. I can't think of a worse high-profile flop than Heath Bell. The Marlins are typically good at evaluating talent too. I think Bell just **** the bed on us. PEACE.

Carlos Lee Trade: Marlins Acquire Slugger From Astros For Matt Dominguez, Rob Rasmussen
MILWAUKEE — Ozzie Guillen knows Carlos Lee from their time together with the Chicago White Sox. Now Guillen hopes Lee can provide his typical brand of slugging on the field for the Miami Marlins, and give them some leadership off of it.
The Marlins acquired Lee from the Houston Astros in a trade on Wednesday, sending a pair of minor leaguers to Houston.
"It's a huge move, I think, the front office, showing people how much we want to win," Guillen said. "They show how much we care about winning this year, they showed the players that they're willing to do anything to help this ballclub."

I really wish we'd gone after Prince Fielder in the offseason now. Carlos Lee is not Prince. PEACE.

Dude. Myself and a LOT of people wanted Prince. But the office didn't want Fielder because of his weight and his race. They wanted latino's. Hence throwing money at Albert Pujols but Pujols didn't sign because there wasn't a no-trade clause.
Man I wanted to trade Gaby already. I got into a lot of convos about Gaby with people and I look at him now. People thought we had it fine at 1st base. Its disappointing because this team really wanted to make the playoffs. They still can but by a hair lol.

It's never good to drop major money on a closer unless it's a once in a lifetime talent like Mariano. Look at Brad Lidge, he had the talent but mentally, he wasn't cut out for it. There's few pitchers who are both mentally and physically good enough to handle being a closer for multiple years.

Lee turned down Dodgers before coming to Miami
Carlos Lee vetoed a trade to the Dodgers before being dealt to the Marlins: 'There was a reason why I didn't block going to Miami,' he said. 'It's one of the teams that I wanted to play for.' - 5:35 PM ET

Anybody think Ramirez foolishness could be some kind of karma for when Amare punched the extinguisher in the AAA?

LOL! Ozzie cracks me up. He tells it like it is. No one wants Heath Bell taking the mound. Dude is single-handedly killing this team. PEACE.

God, Heath is such a bitch. No one that mentally weak and insecure should be a closer.

Re: Miami Dolphins/Marlins Thread
Signing Bell to that contract was fiscally irresponsible from the get go. His velocity was clearly declining. And considering The Marlins have pulled closers out of their ass every year, why sign a guy to that much money, with some severely questionable conditioning and weight issues? Bad deal all around, but hindsight in 20/20.
Can't wait for "The Franchise tonight", though.
