Andrew Bynum, James Harden, Monta Ellis, or Tyreke Evans
I think Dwight and Chris Paul will explore their options in free agency, but if the Hawks miss out on Dwight and CP, the Hawks can maybe get a center like Pekovic, Al Jefferson, or Okafor, and then over pay a guy like: James Harden, Monta Ellis, Andrew Bynum, or Tyreke Evans
Who would you like the Hawks to go after and possibly overpay?

Tyreke Evans? Replace Iso-Joe with Iso-Evans? Evans is another guard who needs the ball in his hands. Worse, he isn't nearly the outside shooter Joe is.

Re: Andrew Bynum, James Harden, Monta Ellis, or Tyreke Evans
I voted for Evans. reasoning being, I like Bynum but I know he will get a JJ type contract; which I feel he would be somewhat worth it if he didn't have a history of injury. James Harden is a good player but he is a six man not a starter type player to me. I would love Ellis but we already have Teague and Harris. and we are in need of SF's and SG's. I feel that Evans could be a legitimate 1st option at the two as well as play the 3 some. would love to have both Ellis and Evans not sure if they would be a good fit together though. I say trade Teague and/or Harris and get Evans, Ellis, and Kaman and Biedrins if we can not get Dwight and CP3.
Ellis/ Harris or Teague
Evans/ Morrow
Smoove/ Jenkins
Horford/ Ivan
Kaman/ Biedrins
we may not be able to get a big 3 but maybe we could get a Large 5!!!!!! LOL!!!! or a "SICK SIX"
all five of the starts could make the All-Star roster.

James Harden is Joe Johnson-lite.
Monta Ellis makes a great Jason Terry but a lousy champion.

James Harden is not like JJ.... he is more like Paul Pierce just not as good.

Financially we would be able to sign Bynum and Harden next year. I know they aren't D12 or CP3, but
Teague
Harden
Smoove
Horford
Bynum
That's a hell of a team right there.

Any player that expects to receive a full max (extra year) will expect to be traded (Dwight Howard type situation). So, I think our chances will be slim to none with Bynum unless we trade for them. We might be successful if we pursue James Harden, Monta Ellis, and Tyreke Evans with a full max.
I have some concerns about James Harden being a 1st or 2nd option.

Hopefully Bynum is butthurt from the Lakers dangling him as trade bait for Dwight and leaves. It's a long shot, but who knows?

Few, issues with your post:
1) Because most of those other guys are restricted you'll have to overpay for them....and their team's may still match your offer so Maxing out Bynum isn't really an issue considering:
a) His production
b) The premium put on his position.
So giving him a max will actually be closer to his market value than giving one to Reke and Harden just to pry them from their old teams and Monta.......no, just no.
2) Which one of Monta, Tyreke or Harden is more likely to lead a championship team? That's a very poor criteria to base your decision on.

There's actually little chance that yo can sign Bynum, Reke and resign Smoove. Bynum and Reke, sure because I doubt the Kings would match Reke if we gave him a yearly contract around what Smoove is making now but Smoove would most definitely demand a pay raise.

This is my thinking too, tell him he'd be wanted here in Atlanta and not just offered up as trade bait.

I voted for Harden, Id love Bynum too but hed expect a max contract and if he has one bad fall then were screwed, plus we could get a cheaper option at C like Pekovic; but Harden is young, and doesnt have any injury history, plus I think hes mentally tougher after what happened in the finals and a max contract for him would be less than that given to Bynum.

I am assuming that we are talking about the summer of 2013. if so, everyone I named will be or should be a unrestricted free agent with the exception of Reke. these are the unrestricted free agents I would want us to go after next summer....Dwight Howard, CP3, Al Jefferson,Reke (restricted) Monta Ellis, Andrew Bynum, Okaror, Kaman(he may not be a free agent next summer), and Biedrins in that order.

I'd rather give Harden a max and hope he takes on being a 1a/1b type guy, than hope Bynum can injury free. At least then, you can sign a guy like Pekovich is skilled offensively and cover him with Josh Smith on help side.

There's no assumption to be made, the OP clearly implies if not states it outright, summer 2013 and Dwight and CP3 are looking elsewhere. That being said, Jefferson as your top candidate to lead a team to a championship? Been to the playoffs but twice in whole career, has had the same knee surgeries as Bynum, older, less offensively efficient and can't defend a paper sack. He'd ask for a salary starting at 12-13 million whereas Bynum is capped out at 16 mil first year salary........Bynum is a complete bargain in this instance.

I would made my choice between Harden or Bynum, or another player, but certainly not Evans or Ellis, especially if you have to overpaid to get them because they are F.A.
I have no faith in them to build a champion contender, maybe I didn't see the right things, but what I saw was guys with lots of potential who plays for their contract way more than winning as a team.

^ you can offer two max contracts, and then resign Josh, but then that leaves what to do with Teague
or you can offer one max contract, resign Josh and Teague, and then have enough to offer one more good size contract for another player.
remember that the Dwight, Chris Paul scenario works because Paul makes Teague expendable.

I know that the OP clearly stated the summer of 2013, I was being sarcastic because someone said that most of the guys listed would be restricted FA when that is not true. and with Al Jefferson being my next free agent after the super star are gone. yes he is exactly what we need, a center that can score in the low post and rebounds well. I am not sure what he would get in the open market but I am sure he would want to go to a winning team over a lottery team. if not then move to the next free agent. but I wouldn't expect anyone of these to lead the hawks to a championship. only Dwight and/or CP3 would be able to do that. If we fail on the Dwight or CP3 sweepstakes I would what to attempt to build a complete team that is it...... and hope with the talent of lets say Jefferson and Teke added to this team that Horford and Smoove could lead the Hawks to a championship.....
