The only players that we're certain to close with are Wade-LeBron-Bosh. I think everyone else is situational.

Dwyane Wade had his knee surgery Monday, out eight weeks

The only reason Dwyane Wade isn’t running with Team USA and otherwise melting in the Las Vegas heat right now is his left knee wouldn’t let him. He needed it drained during the playoffs and was dragging his left leg around, his trademark explosiveness cut down. Monday, Wade had the expected surgery on his knee.…

This is supposed to keep him sidelined for about two months, meaning he should be ready to go when Heat training camp opens in October. If he and Chris Bosh can stay healthy, and with the addition of Ray Allen, the Heat should be better next season. Which is bad news for 29 other teams.

I thought the last bit was worth posting given some of the latest rumor rumblings.
The pursuit of more players may not stop there for the Heat, though they won't break up the team to do it. The Heat have no interest in including point guard Norris Cole or center Joel Anthony in any sign-and-trade scenarios, a source said, meaning anyone interested in playing for them (veterans such as shooting guard Raja Bell and center Marcus Camby) will have to settle for the minimum.

Good. there is no need to get desperate and over-pay to get a 38 year old Camby.

We have a few trade chips in our pocket with Cole and the Philly pick, we should use them wisely if we feel the need during the season and only for the right player. there will be some PF's and Centers that teams will be looking to move, i trust Riley will be on the look-out for any opportunities that may pop up.

The Howard to the Nets seem inevitable

The interesting thing is who they do put at PF.

I keep hearing how they would put Gerald Wallace at PF next to Dwight. That's actually good cuz we would be able to go small and not be afraid of their 4

ray allen is not situational. i think the closing line up will be wade-allen-bron-battier-bosh all year long.

i found this part of the si article also interesting:
"The addition of Allen is critical because he slips comfortably into Miami's offensive attack. The Heat played more up-tempo last season while ranking eighth in the NBA in points per 100 possessions (106.6 per game). Yet, internally, they want to play even faster next season, to push the pace on nearly every possession, to blitz opponents early."

no country for slow, plodding bigs.

we'll go small ball on anybody and let them adjust to what we're doing. this is how we won a ring. we went small on hibbert, we went small on ibaka + perkins.

A vet big will slip through like they always do.

I remember Minny fans saying that Darko will not be a wolf this coming season since he is doing nothing but bench warming. They are confident he may get bought out/traded.

No, Teletovic would be playing the 4 for them. It would be DWill/JJ/Wallace/Teletovic/Howard.

We did a good job on denying the ball to Hibbert. Pretty much whenever Hibbert got the ball in the paint he scored though
Pacers have really no true PG who could get him the ball

Perkins is not a scoring threat

Ballboys of the world arrive.

Varnado wasn't good enough to even make the roster last year, maybe he'll warm the bench this year and maybe not. Can everyone please stop overhyping him.

According to Woj, Nets looking for 4th team to take on Marshon Brooks and give up a 1st round draft pick in return. Not sure why that is a problem .. you would think teams would be lining up to take them up on that offer .. He's on a rookie contract, so what gives?

Hasn't Joel Anthony done a decent job on Howard for the past few years? I can't remember Howard completely destroying us.

He had a 24pt 25 reb game and a 25pt 24reb game against Miami last season. He also had two crappy performances but I specifically remember him destroying Anthony whenever he got matched with him.

Watching this summer league game between Detroit and Utah. I'm liking Michael Stockton aka Baby Stockton, son of John Stockton on the Utah Jazz. He's fearless and is really staying in front of Brandon Knight on defense and really trying on defense. Looks like he has a good feel for the game and can hit the open shot.

I'd like us to scoop him up to be our 3rd PG. And if we're really trading Norris Cole in a package for Camby, get another young PG like this kid. :)
