if you count OKC in that bunch thats what 11 out of 12 players on four teams? I guess he was trying to go with the big market angle.

They weren't on that team, Boozer makes them 10 large market guys though.

New York/Brooklyn: Carmelo, Kidd, Deron, Dwight
LA Clippers/Lakers: CP3, Kobe
Miami: LeBron, Wade, Bosh
Chicago: Boozer
Detroit: Tayshaun Prince
FA: Michael Redd

does anyone know why the Knicks signed Camby- and to that contract? What sense does that make?

Great pickup for them. They give up nothing of value and now have a defensive backup to Chandler.

I can't figure out what the Rockets are doing. With this Camby trade, they now have:
Terrence Jones
Jon Leuer
Marcus Morris
Donatus Motiejunas
Chandler Parsons
Patrick Patterson
Luis Scola
Greg Smith
Royce White
Josh Harrelson
Jerome Jordan
Furkan Aldemir

I have PF Envy
Can we not get one or two of their decent bigs in exchange for DJA?

I always wanted us to get Furkan just for his name.

Its obvious what they are doing, they are securing trade assets, those players all hold value in trade talks.... They might make a run at Dwight or such if they can, possibly KLove if he starts talking trade.... D.Williams if he loses paitence... ect.

Because collecting a massive amount of Power Forwards is the best way to get assets.

Hey Orlando, we will give you 6 Power Forwards for your 1 centre. How is that for value.

Can't say no can ya!

I do understand what you are saying by collecting assets for trades, but I think they have gone a little nuts and I'm critical of collecting assets for the same position.

Saying that, would you give up the Portland pick for one of those players?

It's simple supply and demand economics. By stockpiling all the PFs, they'll create high demand and be able to trade a Jon Leur for a Russel Westbrook or a Josh Harrelson for a Tyreke Evans and 2 1st round picks.

They haven't signed any of their rookies, right? I know once you sign rookies you can't trade them for 30 days, so I'm sure they're looking to move at least one of them.

I would definitely trade the Portland pick for Patterson or Lamb, maybe Parsons or White too.

I am intrigued by White and would seriously consider trading Portland's first for him.

I think Portland will be borderline playoffs for the next couple of years, so that pick won't be that great, but I'm sure Houston would love to be able to offer it to teams.

That would be interesting...I wonder if we could work out a three-team deal with the Magic. According to the wiretap, the Magic would get Lopez, Damion James, Sheldon Williams, Luke Walton, and three first rounders for Howard, Clark, JRich, and QRich. Not exactly a haul.

Maybe we could get in on a Howard deal: send the Portland first and Tyrus to the Magic and get Royce back from the Rockets. Let the Rockets figure out all the other players they'd send Orlando, the Nets aren't exactly sending the Magic an All-Star team. Lopez is the only thing the Nets really have on the Rockets, and is he really that valuable?

I know, no way it happens. :D

Exactly!!! Who would have expected J.R. Smith out of all the people to go for less money to be on a good team!? He could have easily got a whole lot more on a tanking team. The crazy part is that he's pretty much in his prime and if he would be able to sort things out in his head, he could be a good starting 2 guard. I actually feel bad for him - he probably thinks that the Knicks are capable of winning a title and that he wants to be there when it happens.

Crazy thing when they crash and burn with him starting doesn't that lower his value even more?? I commend him for taking less, but 2.8 per is ridiculous. That is like a rookie contract.
