thats the first good idea I have seen on this board. At least it is something we know he could do. People keep making up all these trades that SHOULD be done as if it is the Magic's choice that certain deals aren't on the table. It takes 2 sides to make a trade, the Magic can't just say "DO THIS TRADE NOW" and it becomes reality. Message Board folks live in a fantasy world.

The worst thing that this team could do to Howard is keep him and not let him play at all. The only problem with that is it doesn't help with all the awful contracts that Otis strapped us with...

Can you imagine though the whole season with Howard sitting out?? haha...we would never get a decent free agent again because of it unfortunately.

BillY: OK, Ron, just like you gave us reason to believe I've got Lopez to agree to a sign and trade, 2 draft picks from us, a bunch of expiring 1 year contracts, expirings from Cleveland and an agreement to take on Humphries, and a draft pick in exchange for the Clippers to take on Marshon Brooks. It's been quite an effort to get this all coordinated, do we have a deal?

HENNY: Um..... pass

Exactly what's gonna happen.

Yep. Henny has the Nets on a wild goose chase (no gustavo).

I still can't believe that LAL will sit by and let the best center in the league slip thru their hands. This is once in a life time for them. And yeah Bynum is the 2nd best center in the league, but not in the same zip code as DH.

You know how I know this deal won't go down? Because everybody's talking about it.

Hennigan is reportedly a tight-lipped individual and was just brought into a situation where every single move of his will be highly scrutinized. There's no way he's realistically close to making this move that EVERYBODY thinks is terrible. And on top of that, he'd be caving in to a diva's demand AND trading him to an Eastern Conference team that will be a thorn in the Magic's behind for years to come. I could see him entertaining the Nets and letting info leak out in an effort to drive up other teams' offers. This way he could also save face and tell Howard's camp and the Nets that he TRIED to make a Brooklyn trade work but simply couldn't pass up a better offer. He's only 30 years old and intends to be in this business for a while so burning bridges and telling the Nets/Dwight/Fegan to F off isn't in his best interest.

I see him working on this Nets trade as best he can, getting extra picks and players thrown in to make it look like the Magic are THIS -> <- close to trading Dwight and then going and flipping Howard to a team like the Lakers who found a way to sweeten their own offer. The Lakers missed out on CP3 last year and I sincerely doubt they'll let that happen again with Dwight. They'll find a way to top Brooklyn's offer.

Clear cap- The deals besides Lopez will be 1 year with options for us to get out of them after the season
Lopez will be tradeable- We will be able to showcase him and increase his value in trade.

I trust Henny has a plan. We have no idea what the other offers actually are, I trust that he is trying to do what is best. Anything else makes no sense for a brand new front office.

This is the mess created by Otis then Dwight, we have to clean house and build a new culture.

The fact that Brooklyn is taking J.Brick, Duhon & Q.Rich is enough of a deal breaker for me between them and Houston.

Duhon is not a part of the current deal that is being proposed/rumored.

Q-Rich's contract isn't even bad enough to try and get off of the books. It's a nothing deal. I mean it's bad because he doesn't contribute at all, but it doesn't eat up enough cap space to get excited about getting rid of it. Nor is it long enough to get excited about ridding of. He's a throw in to make the numbers work. That's all.

J-Rich is the only worthwhile deal we would be parting with, and we would be trading it in for Lopez...which will actually give us less cap space for 2014.

What does everyone want? To Keep J-Rich and pay him about 6 mil per year for 3 more years, or take Lopez and pay max or close to max money for at least 4 years plus throw in a few late first rounders? Yeah, I'll take the J-Rich Option for $1000, Alex.

If we rebuild we still have to spend 90% of the cap. Tanking and drafting smart seems to be the plan and those are cheap contracts so money needs to be spent somewhere. Lopez on his 4 year deal has far greater value than Q, JRich or any other player. Lopez had his first injury but had very nice numbers in his prior seasons and is only 24 years old.

Well, the current deal doesn't help us with Otis' bad contract either. It actually trades one of those bad contracts for an even worse contract and more years. We all agree that Brook Lopez is just a role player type of piece, right? No one thinks he's worth $14 mil right, and would should be excited to have him...yes?

I like the Marbury route over the current proposed deal. I'd rather make Howard sit, than trade him away for late first round picks and make our future cap space less than what it could be in a deal for Lopez.

Yanke3 I don't know why you decided to quote me in your sig but that was hyperbole. Think about the quote though; The Magic had the best superstar to trade but ended up with the worst deal. Compound that with the fact that it was the Nets that were involved in one of those deals. Is not absolutely infuriating? Is being a "real fan" constitute having to put up with clowns in the front office? How much time and emotion can you possibly devote to an organization that has consistently been run with such ineptitude?
