The final roster spots - List of UFA bigs who could fill it

Post#1 » by Grumpy Heat Fan » Tue Jul 10, 2012 3:56 am

I'll keep the list updated

Here's the list of UFA' bigs that are left :

Troy Murphy : 32 years old, 6'11 tall. Earned $854,389 last season with the Lakers. Can shoot the 3 point ball and perimeter shots. He turned us down back in 2010 for Boston, we know how that worked out

Kyrylo Fesenko : 25 years old, 7'1 tall. Earned $435,000 last season with the Pacers. He also turned down us last off-season and chose the Warriors over us, but the Warriors changed their minds and rescinded their offer to him. We didn't pursue him again and he was then picked up by the Pacers.

Jason Collins : 33 years old, 7'0 tall. Earned $854,389 last season with the Hawks. Career averages of 4 ppg, 4 rbg, 0.5bpg in 21 mins per game.

Hamed Haddadi : 27 years old, 7'2 tall. Earned $1,300,000 last season with the Grizzlies. 4 years NBA experience, career average of 2 ppg, 2rbg, 0.5 bpg in 6 mins per game.

Ryan Hollins: 27 years old, 7'0 tall. Earned $248,048 last season with the Celtics. 6 years experience, career averages of 4 ppg, 2 rbg, 0.5 bpg in 13 mins per game.

Joel Pryzbilla : 32 years old, 7'1 tall. Earned $420,304 last season with the Blazers. Career averages of 4 ppg, 6 rbg, 1.4 bpg in 20 mins per game.

--------------------------------

Those are it.

I say Riley immediately needs to go after Joel Przybilla.

Nazr Mohammed earned $3,750,000 last season. Unless you want to S/T for him or something, we can't afford.

I think Nazr, Haddadi, or Pryzbilla are the best options. Haddadi looked decent from what little time he played in the Clips-Grizzlies series, he's a pretty massive 7'2 and he's young enough where he could (potentially) be a long term solution for a big off the bench. Pryzbilla is a good option too, didn't really see enough of him this year to see if he's regressed at all. Nazr never played with OKC and there has to be a reason why, but he seems like a decent vet.

From what I saw, Haddadi was not that bad. I would take him.

Jamison is out of our price range

Pryzbilla turned us down midseason cause he didn't want to leave Portland. I imagine Blazers will have have to show him the door AND he'll have to really want to keep playing ball in order for us to have a chance, since it sounds like his heart is in Portland.

Not a big fan of Hollins for what we need. He strikes me as an energy guy, and we already have an two energy guys (Haslem/Joel) who are both better fits for what we want to do. Meanwhile, Hollins isn't slowing down Bynum or Howard or anyone like that, and is probably worse against them than Joel is. No thanks

I could live with Fesenko, Collins, or Mohammad for sure. I'm still on the Oden train though. Upside!

I actually like hollins. I thought Boston should have given him more minutes against us. The reality though is that Riley wants to go small, and down the stretch it is going to be Lebron at the 4 and Bosh at the 5.

We need to focus our attention on versatile players who can play multiple positions. We would all like to get a center but there are no realistic options out there. Just get the best available players.

Ian Mahinmi or Greg Oden. If we can't pull an S&T for Kamen.

C'mon Riley use that pick and make some magic.

Kwame Brown, Kaman & Jermaine O'Neal are out there.

Oneal is probably the best minimum center. As often injured as he is.

O'neal is absolutely brutal and has been for 3 years..The name nobody seems to be talking about is Anthony Randolph. He may not be the traditional big man we are looking for, but this kid can play..

we should have drafted festus ezeli. We simply arent getting a proven impact center for our price range.

none of the scrubs we can afford will matter at all.
