Will the Suns offer picks for Marshon Brooks?

Post#1 » by jleckie602 » Mon Jul 9, 2012 11:09 pm

Do you think that the FO would throw one of the LA or both LA picks to pick up Marshon Brooks? Would that be even a good idea? Hes young and good. We can offer 2 Firsts from LA rather just 1.

If our front office is smart they will.Sad to say were probably not going to get gordon. If we land brooks who only makes 1.5 we would have a ton of cap space left

If for some odd reason the Nets are THAT desperate for a pick I would happily give them Lakers first this year for Brooks. Hell give them one of the 2nds too.

Gives us another young piece that can grow with no expectations. Dragic, Brooks, Beasley, Morris + Cap Space + Lotto Pick.

This right here.

To make myself feel better about Nash in a Laker jersey, i have been looking at it like we traded Nash and got Dragic and 4 picks in return. If we can turn 2 of those picks into Brooks (who we could use at SG instead of overpaying a FA), then it turns into Nash for Dragic/Brooks/2 picks, and that looks great! :D

I'd be ok with Brooks instead of Gordon. It means we'd be rebuilding which I'm fine with. It also means we get a shot at Wiggins in '14.

i would take MarSwag if the Gordon thing isnt going to work out. Brooks would be both electric and frustrating ill bet, he is going to make a lot of mistakes much like Kobe in his early years, but you have to let him grow. With the saved money, I would NOT!! sign Lopez and just move Channing back to back-up C, sign JJ Hickson, and Zoran Dragic JJ for about what like 4-5 a year, and the Zohan for really cheap. This way we can save the Childress amnesty for a better time, Duds can back up Sg. or Sf., Zoran can develope at 3rd string Sg. for now, Chilly is still there at Sf in an emergency.

I think Hickson would be the starter there. Gortat/Hickson front court would be stout rebounding and defense.

Hell, if we don't get Gordon, I'd offer picks and whatever to get Humphries (S&T) and Brooks. Then sign Brown or Redd to a short contract to team with Brooks at SG. Humphries would be great next to Gortat. S&T Lopez somewhere or add him in the S&T of Humphries and Brooks (either going to Brooklyn or Orlando.

Why would Beasley come off the bench?

I wouldn't mind using a Laker pick for Brooks. Lakers 1st, our 2nd would be my max.

agree with sunster. no way I give two picks for Brooks. I liked him and wanted the suns to snag him in the draft but they are idiots. The only pick I would trade is LA's 13 and nothing else. Maybe one of LA's 2nd at most. Hes a nice young player, but is no way worthy of two picks.

Maybe the suns try to get into the nets magic trade by landing him with a pick. Rumors were clippers were going to get him for a 1st rd pick protected.

Whether we get EG or not, I think we should definitely go for MarSwag.

LAL '13 - in any case YES, it's a rubble, as Lakers will go 1st or 2nd in the West and deep in play offs.
But I think that Suns are going silently for Mayo...
Offense wins games, Defense wins championships...

I love Marshon Brooks.

I wanted us to get him instead of Morris. I see his ceiling as a less explosive, less a**hole type Kobe Bryant.
