You know Vinny is going to run the patented 3 guard line-up. If this deal goes through, then 5 players are going to be fighting for 96 minutes. Paul is going to take at least 36 of those. That leaves 60 for Bledsoe, Billups, Crawford and Brooks. Crawford and Brooks will likely be sliding over to the 3 spot quite often when everyone is healthy.

this would have been the BEST thing to do if we hadn't already signed crawford. right now i'm still unsure about it. there are still only 48 mins in a game =X

It's questionable though if we're as good as last year. Williams, Young, Martin & Evans can be considered a better bench then Crawford, Brooks, Odom & Hollins.

You are right, I dont think we have improved our roster this season. In fact changing the entire bench would probably create some chemistery problems.
Also I dont see much upside in Brooks. He is not an efficient scorer, not very different than Crawford. Is he talented enough to develope a decent jump shot and learn how to play good D? I dont know.

The only reason I would say its ok to trade our pick is that Howard will stay in Eastern conference.

Sam Amico (Fox Sports Ohio) is saying that the Cavs have backed out and will likely be replaced by the Bobcats. If Charlotte is in the deal, they'll be giving up their pick for Brooks and therefore eliminating the Clippers.

A late first for Brooks is well worth it, for numerous reasons.

1] Brooks is a solid scorer and can create his own shot, which would be needed on our 2nd unit.

2] He's still on a rookie deal and could be a trade chip for a better fit, such as a young big.

3] It keeps Dwight in the East.

If that's all it takes to get brooks to the clipps, we need to do it. He is a pretty good player right now and he still can improve later down the line.

Brooks would replace Young with ease. Hope this 4-team deal goes through and we remain the 4th team involved.

Brooks didn't have as high a scoring rate as Young and doesn't have the 3PT shot, or the same length, wouldn't really replace him, but he won't be the worst.

He isn't the best option available though, and actually a better option just came, the Bulls didn't pick up Ronnie Brewers option. There is the SF/SG defender that the team needs.

Rumored for weeks as the most expendable of the Chicago Bulls' so-called Bench Mob contingent, Ronnie Brewer confirmed Tuesday that management won't pick up his $4.37 million team option for 2012-13.

Of course money is an issue, but if he's willing to take a one year small deal, then he can split minutes at SF with Caron. He played 24.8 MPG for the Bulls last season, and 22 the season before, so SF can split: Caron (27) / Brewer (21) on a regular night.
