Who here lives in Brooklyn?

Post#1 » by felya » Mon Jul 9, 2012 8:15 pm

Never cared for the Nets much before. I am however happy we have a basketball team in Brooklyn. I've lived here for most of my life and it's nice to have a team and an arena 20 minutes away from me. (Sorry Jersey)

Born in Brooklyn, lived there for my early childhood, been living in Jersey since. So the move hasn't bothered me the way it has annoyed most NJ-based fans. It's completely understandable to me that some people don't want to follow the team out of the state anymore, but all the fans I know (some from Brooklyn, others who have never been in the state of NY) would never leave the Nets.

I was raised and still live in Brooklyn. It's nice to have a professional sport team in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Cyclones is nice, but they are a minor team. I don't mind rooting for the Nets, but the Knicks always come first on my list.

Spent my last 15 years in Brooklyn. Grew up rooting for the Knicks and Nets, then completely drop the Knicks after Dolan's incompetence made the team a laughing stock for years. Become a diehard during vince carter/late jkidd years. Never looked back, glad to see the Nets coming to my backyard. Cuts my commute by one hour.

Moved to Brooklyn in January. Never had a basketball team to follow consistently. I've been following the Nets since I realized we would both be going to Brooklyn eventually.

Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge from 1982 to 1998. Still have a lot of friends over there. Just heard from one a few weeks back I haven't seen in almost 10 years. Really looking forward to going back and visiting.

I got to say a part of me is heartbroken Jersey does not get any of the new found glory. But if there is one place on the planet I'm glad we move to it's Brooklyn.
