Orlando has been talking to LA, BK, Houston, Dallas and Atlanta for weeks, it's been reported. And this article was written last night, or years ago in internet time.

But yeah.. Atlanta should go for it. They have nothing to lose.

Horford, Teague, Pachullia, Picks
for
Dwight, J.Rich, Dubon

Harris / Duhon
J.Rich / Morrow
Stevenson
J.Smith
Howard

Could make some noise this year.. but even more next if Howard and Smith stick around with the cap space Atlanta will have.

I think that Magic probably had a change of mind with that Nets deal. But I was saying that even if Howard was going to be F/A he doesnt have too many choices and Atlanta will have his bird rights and they can also do a sign and trade on him as well, if needed.

If Atlanta loses him, they will have no contact except one person and that it. They can straight out rebuild from sractch.

NekiEcko wrote:Actually, if you want Dwight get the 5 year deal, then dont do the extension. The extension is only good for four years, Plus with Howard bird rights, if he want more money then he comes here and if doesnt then he will leave but Hawks will still have alot of cap room.

just look at what just happen....

"Magic Reopen Dwight Trade Talks With Other Teams"

the Nets trade might not happen because of the $15 million per year price tag on Brook Lopez

this just goes to show that scenario of signing Dwight and CP while keeping Horford and Josh is closer to possible now.

Change of mind? They never made up their mind.
Atlanta and others have been engaged the entire time.

But yes, I agree Atlanta should do it.

Okay then, do you want Josh Smith as the SF? Right now, if you trade Horford, Teague and Zaza, you will have no contacts on the book next year, so you can offer two Max contact and be close to range besides Orlando want Dwight ASAP.

how do you know? no one knows what the deal is.

What if it is Harris+Horford+Zaza+houstons pick and 1 atlanta pick?

leaving Teague+Smith+Dwight+rookie+Ivan Johnson+ major cap space for CP3 or Monta? is it horrible then?

How it is horrible, if Dwight doesnt stay, then Josh doesnt stay then Atlanta will have alot of cap room to rebuild since only John Jenkins will be the only contract on the book next year.

Can't trade Harris so soon.

Dwight > Horford

Teague + Horford > Dwight

The Hawks are primed to move up in the conference. This kills them.

i'll say it again, as a Hawks fan, i hope the Horford for Dwight trade doesn't happen.

Horford is so over rated. Ike Freakin Diogu destroyed him the other day.

So in other words, keep Al + Teague, knowing in fact that you will lose Josh in process? Right now, this team needs a risk taker, who is going to take a risk. Success or Failure, nobody is going to fault him for that plus with Dwight, you can actually fill the stand up in Atlanta

LOL
And this is being considered over the Nets offer? IS this real life?

Anyway, I change my stance. Atlanta should DEFINITELY do it if they get the chance.

But more importantly this is an indication of the value for Dwight. Nobody is going to offer anything good anymore if Atlanta is offering a deal like this. Get the thought of Bynum or the Houston deal out of your head everyone.

If we gauged his value on current offers (The Nets deal) we would think that he had negative value.

We don't know the offers right now because Orlando is probably keeping tight lipped while the Nets are spewing every second they can

There is three package that Atlanta is using. I believe that Horford will be offer if Dwight sign that extenstion but that is a bad idea, especally since only a hand full of team can sign him and others have to sign and trade for him. Leave Atlanta into the driver seat

It will be
1) Resigned with Hawks for 5 years
2) Go to another team that have the room but their chance to get to playoff are slim (except Dallas but Dirk isnt going to be forever)
3) Sign and trade with the rest.

I am not a cap expert, so correct me if I am wrong

Rockets, even the Bulls can get into play for better deal

As a Hawks fan, i WOULDNT let Horford go but a Dwight Howard type player only come once in a while and Atlanta needs a star, this is the same risks that brought ppl like Mike Vick and Julio Jones to the Falcons lIke Greg Maddox and trading for Tex for the Braves, even know that he signed with Yankees. You have to take risk and Al do much better down there in Orlando
