I'm fine with it. i dont think he is worth it, but i want him back at whatever it takes. and since we are already capped out and dont lose any flexibility by doing it, im good with it.

Like I said in the general board: I think the Nets FO and Lopez(and his agent) have agreed that Lopez would accept a S&T to Orlando and not seek out any other offers if he were to get the max no matter what happens.

If what I wrote is true, then it doesn't matter if people think he's worth it or not. If Dwight wouldn't be in play for he Nets then I'm sure King would have signed him to a lower contract by now, but right now Lopez has a ton of leverage and has used that leverage to secure a max deal.

I would.

Lopez is going to be a 20/8 guy next season. I also believe he can progress into a 20/10 guy.
Its just a matter of time. Lopez will make everyone who doubted him eat crow.

Not trying to be a dick either... but it really doesn't matter if he's worth it or not. I've already stated numerous times that he isn't worth the max, but he's gonna get it for cooperating in the Dwight negotiations, so it's fine, whatever.

I'm fine with it. Lopez was going to be a max player prior to last year. He has the game to be an all star. Hibbert got max and I think Lopez is better than him.

One problem, Orlando hopefully wouldn't want him if he's under a max deal.

Okay. Then sign him to a max deal and keep him. Because the trade won't happen.

Btw, the Nets have been a joke for years. Stop talking like your team is anything. They have been the joke in NJ since they day they were found. Their only period of success resulted in them having a Buffalo Bill type run in the NBA. Your team being bought by a loaded Russian doesn't change your teams history.

Enjoy your run as a "super team" if it even happens. Orlando's time will come.

why exactly are you trolling here? your on a nets board. people are going to be discussing the nets. some of us are excited to have a team that will be back in the playoffs. if you dont like it, dont read it and go to your teams board

Enjoy your run as a "super team" if it even happens.

i'll enjoy my team regardless, as im not a bandwagon fan, and we will be significantly better then the team i recently watched lose 150+ games over 3 seasons

Orlando's time will come.

again, who cares about orlando. this is a NETS message board

I wouldn't mind if Lopez signed to a max contract. Is he really a max deal type of talent... not so much, but think about it this way also. He's pretty exceptional in a position (center) which isn't exactly loaded at the moment. Really how many notable centers are there in the league? I could probably count them with just one hand and I think Lopez would be amongst them.

Is he worth it? No. Could i live with it? Yes.

Big men are overpaid... If Roy freaking Hibbert can get the max despite being a significantly worse player than Lopez I would be SHOCKED if Brook can't get the same deal...

Hopefully reduced offensive pressure and a fully healthy season will allow Lopez to increase his rebounding and shot-blocking numbers.

I'm pretty confident that will be the case but it's not a guarantee and that's the major risk with Lopez right now...

The funny thing is that a Magic fan is trolling us for our lack of success. We've been a more successful franchise than Orlando.

Not trolling, I kindly pointed out if Lopez is given a max deal Orlando would lose interest in a sign and trade, which was the basis for most Nets fans on the first page saying they'd be OK with him getting one. To which I was responded to with "nobody cares what Orlando wants"

Well, if he had read my sig he'd have been able to deduce that I do care what Orlando wants. And FYI the Nets have not been more successful than Orlando. Not in my opinion. Nets were a non playoff team way too many years to be considered better. I think since Shaqs rookie year Orlando has missed the playoffs 3, maybe 4 times.

But if what the OP really intended was giving him the max and keeping him than have at it. He's not a max player though.

Also, I can be a pleasure to converse with, but if someone insults my team I will return the favor.

no one was ever talking about a trade. ever. the whole thread was could you live with lopez getting the max if thats what it takes to keep him.

no one cares about orlando because:

1) this is a nets board
2) this topic has nothing to do with orlando

stop being a douchebag troll. the nets franchise hasnt been as succesful as orlando. whatever fine can you not troll the **** out of this thread anymore?
