Official: GS/NO/Philly 3 way deal (DWright, JJack)

Mildly disappointed with this deal, think GS should have been able to get a little more for DWright then just cap space (basically). Probably had to happen to be able to keep Rush, sign a big, and avoid the tax.

Any idea who the rights are?

It is unclear whom the Warriors will receive in return, though it is apparently a player who is currently playing overseas.

That would mean the player is likely Edin Bavcic. Philly acquired Bavcic’s rights in a trade with Toronto in 2006.

Anyone who follows Euro ball know anything about Bavcic? I'm guessing that since he's 28 and was a 50's pick in 2006 that there's basically no chance he ever sniffs an NBA roster.

Sounds right. He wasn't exactly in the plans in Philly.

Can't really complain about my Sixers getting a free player. He'll likely start if/when Iguodala gets dealt.

I have no idea what they are doing. But if I had to put out odds, it would be something like the following:

(5:2) Iguodala for Gasol.
(10:1) Iguodala for Derozan/Davis/Calderon (with Vuc?)
???

FWIW: the Sixers promotional material for season tickets next year has as its cover Turner - Jrue behind him, and Thad behind him. No Iguodala at all.

That said, I give 10:1 on Thad going out for a contract 2 years or less to match the entire roster (minus this years first rounders).

Oh, and edited title and added poll.

Me, I'm leaning win-win, but as I said elsewhere, Philly is definitely in danger of winning small battles and losing the war (by staying a 42-40 squad).

Just looking at their roster id try and move him for a scoring big PF/C that can give you 18 a night. A healthy Z-BO seems about right but i dont like his contract and i doubt we move gasol now that nash is there to spoon feed him and bynum.

I really hope not Randolph (more then Al Jeff) but is a possibility. If LAL pulls in Dwight I think Gasol's chances of outgoing significantly increase, but as it is I agree Nash to Gasol could be fun to watch and then some (and meanwhile I hate it directionally for Philly).

Will be interesting to see if there is a bigger plan in Philly ...

I think this is good for both teams. GSW can keep B.Rush without having tax problems, and Philly gets a much needed 3pt chucker. Maybe D.Collins can get him to play d-fence too.

Not wanting to clutter the roster with marginal players is hardly "acting like highway robbery."

Am I a bit disappointed that we gave away Wright for nothing? Yes. But honestly I'd still rather have the cap space then that collection of guys.

Yeah but they get their MLE back now and with guys like harrison Barnes/Dick Jefferson Wright is an unessary 4mill

I like the idea of having floor spacing correct for once, but where is Wright gonna get PT on this squad??? Unless Iggy is going out for... it's gotta be a center right, but who? Al Jeff maybe? Would UTA want both Marv and Iggy starting? If Howard goes to BKN or HOU, then maybe LAL trades Gasol for Iggy and Thad Young? OOOOH, the Sixers can even get an 8 mill TPE in that deal! :lol:
