You can't take back an offer like that. They had an agreement. No way it doesn't go through.

It hasnt been signed yet. They can definitely take it back. It was agreed to in principle, that is all.

Portland just rescinded their offer sheet to Hibbert, it was said on NBA TV as they decided they don't want to tie their cap up for two days waiting for Indy to match. You can do it, you look a bit scummy, but you can do it

As a Lakers fan, I have spouted off before that the Lakers can get Howard for Bynum straight up. That's probably unrealistic. If Houston is getting Bynum instead of Howard, then they aren't going to be taking all of Orlando's bad contracts. People have said the Lakers don't have the ability to take on any bad contracts but that's not true. Something like this works:

Lakers trade: Andrew Bynum, Josh McRoberts, Christian Eyenga, Andrew Goudelock, 2017 1st round pick?
Lakers receive: Dwight Howard, Chris Duhon, Quentin Richardson

Rockets trade: Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, rights to Jeremy Lamb/Royce White/other guy they drafted(not all 3 obviously), Toronto's pick, maybe another pick
Rockets receive: Andrew Bynum, Jason Richardson

Magic trade: Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon, Quentin Richardson
Magic receive: Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Josh McRoberts, Christian Eyenga, Andrew Goudelock, rights to Houston players, Toronto's pick, potentially 2 more picks(another Rockets 1st(?) and/or Lakers 2017 1st(?)

Aside from Patterson and the players they get that Houston drafted this year this would be all ending contracts for ORL. Eyenga has a team option next year. Houston would be taking Jason Richardson's contract and the Lakers would be taking Duhon and Quentin Richardson who combined are owed $6.729M in 2013-14.

so that means the july 11th date is the one that allowed it....just like the opposite happened a few years ago when hedo decided to change his mind with porty after verbally accepting their contract offer, thus ending up in toronto.

Robert Murphy ‏@LaRobMurphy
@ahmed_sedam Rockets & Lakers ownerships are allied, long history.

1m Robert Murphy ‏@LaRobMurphy
@ahmed_sedam It's about convincing Houston Dwight won't extend there but Bynum will instead of purely pulling Howard themselves.

Didn't Brooklyn originally agree to pay Mirza Teletovic the MLE, then thought they had a chance for Howard and made him take the MMLE?

Your own franchise has shown how agreements can be broken.

Didn't know Duhon's deal was only partially guaranteed. So, taking on Duhon and Q. Richardson would save ORL only around $4.3M in 2013-14.

The Magic aren't in danger of paying luxury tax after amnestying Arenas.

Thanks for correcting me...Wasn't aware and was under the impression that they were over the luxury tax limit...

Chad Evans ‏@ChadEvansNBA
@Shree_Hari17 Earlier today I would have said ‪#Rockets‬. As of now it could be ‪#Rockets‬ or ‪#Lakers‬. All depends what happens with the 3way

GTFO. Morey would be insane to trade for another 7 foot gimp. We don't want Bynum.
