Not sure why they don't just keep Bynum and hopes he re-signs?

And how exactly is he supposed to sign an extension with Brooklyn?

If he got traded there. Plus I'm assuming he also means that once he becomes a FA, that BKN is the only team he'll sign with.

Brooklyn doesn't have the cap room to sign him as a free agent anymore.

If Bynum is all the Lakers give up than I won't kill myself over it.

But Dwight has no leverage here. He wants to go to Jersey. The moment he is traded, all that goes out the window and all that is left is re-sign with LA for more money or play elsewhere. I'm positive he will change his tune if he were traded to the Lakers.

True. The only real threat would be Dallas, and with Cuban, that's not a threat to take lightly.

Atlanta is a threat as well and since they signed Lou Williams today, that means they can trade Jeff Teague with Al Horford. But I dont really think that Magic fans want to go thought another rebuilding project.

What FA has Cban ever signed worth a damn, or Dallas has signed for that matter? Not re-signed after trading for or drafting mind you.

The mAvericks appeal much like the Celtics is laughable as no one signs with them of substance

Key development in Lakers' pursuit of Dwight Howard: They're more open to taking back contract of G-F Jason Richardson (3 yrs, $18.6 mill).

Richardson is a big improvement over Barnes.

Seriously. Kyle Lowry brought back a future lottery pick ... D12 should bring back at least 1 of those. That has real value.

I like Jason Richardson on the Lakers, good back-up for Kobe/Artest and can shoot.

JRich is exactly what LA needs off the bench. An athletic wing, who can shoot the 3.

So other words, that Magic and Rockets is helping out for the next Big 3 in LA. But here is the deal, that pick from Tornoto is lottery protected right? and Dallas is going to be lower lottery, or mid-teens. I dont really think you can sell that in Orlando.

JRich has the biggest (and potentially longest) contract besides Big Baby. Choosing to take back him is probably even more nice than expected.

Jason Richard had one of his best season playing along Steve Nash. That's why the Lakers are more open now.

That pick from Toronto is actually setup quite nicely. If the Raptors tank hard or make the playoffs, they keep the pick. If they fail to make the playoffs, it's Houston's, or in this case, Orlando's.

Sum it up, 1-3 or 15-30 the pick stays with Toronto. The pick goes to Houston if Toronto picks 4-14 next year, 3-14 in 2014, 2-14 in 2015, and unprotected 2016

Edited for better wording

I'm no rocket psychologist but when the nets finish 4-6 seed and gets bounced in the first round of the playoffs while he and the lakers get to the finals (at the very least to WCF). Why the **** would he even think about going to Brooklyn anymore?

Houston trades Jeremy Lamb/Terrence Jones/Toronto 1st/Dallas 1st/Kevin Martin/Shawn Livingston

Lakers trade Andrew Bynum/2016 or 2017 1st/Steve Blake
Gets Dwight Howard Jason Richardson

Magic trade Dwight Howard/Jason Richardson
Gets Jeremy Lamb/Terrence Jones/Toronto 1st/Dallas 1st/Kevin Martin/Shawn Livingston

Magic probably would ask for White Parsons Morris or Patterson also but the Rockets would be giving up too much.

It doesn't make any sense for the Magic to pay Kevin Martin's contract when they'll just bench him to pay Lamb and other young guys. It doesn't make any sense for the Rockets to give up Martin when they're going to want to try and make the playoffs next year with Bynum.

The Lakers would likely rather insist on Hedo than JRich as Hedo can help them more now and they don't have to take on 2014-15 salary. The Lakers should give up another 1st and the rockets should give up 1 fewer 1st.

Orlando would also probably not want Shaun Livingston's salary as it's not necessary to facilitate the trade.

Well I'm pretty sure the future lottery pick Rockets got for Lowry is going to be included in any Dwight Trade.

But I dont know how you can sell that to the Orlando fans? They missed out on Byunm and lose Howard as well and getting nothing back but picks that may not pan out. *Shake head* Oh well, atleast we know that this mess will be over with.

It be crazy that LAL didnt use any draft picks, just expired folks and back of bench folks, amazing.

McRoberts is an expiring. That said if LA isn't signing Hill back they could keep him and hope he plays like he did in Indy with Nash which isn't far fetched as he isn't hurt this year like he spent all the way to February with a toe injury last year
