The Nets trade would give them expensive junk, and worse picks..obviously the Magic aren't going to get true value for Howard, but this LAL/HOU/ORL trade is wayy better than the Nets offer.

and how that? I think the Hawks deal is better than this. So what is the different between Nets junk and Lakers/Rockets junk?

re-read what I wrote and it literally answers both of your questions...

Damn Shaheen, I've never seen a poster in my many years of forum posting in general, not just RealGM, be hated by absolutely everyone he comes in contact with. You've got to do something man.

My sources re Houston-Orlando-LA talks are more mum than the sound of silence leading up to Tim Duncan re-upping w/ SA.

So is it safe to say that no player's trade got this much collective hype over a period of time as Dwight in NBA history?

edit: although that package is a bit over-rated

Before he opted no one was offering anything of substance because they knew he'd just walk to Brooklyn..but when he opted in teams know now if they trade for him there isnt really as much risk of him walking ..and if he doesn so be it just tank

no team had a GM crazy enough like Billy King to take a risk on a short contract (like he did with Deron). however, he had the luxury of being on a team people wanted to go to as opposed to a team that people wanted to leave

he dwill situation was so different. dwill had 1.5 years on his contract + an option for another season. when the nets got him, they had more then just 1 year to convince him. they also were moving to a new building in a new city and HAD to have a star coming over. they had to gamble.

dwill also wasnt demanding a trade, so utah had some leverage as they didnt NEED to trade him immedietly. and williams didint narrow teams he would sing with to just 1

That's a good thing. Serious trades are rarely made public.

and making them a lottery team again, more or less and making two other teams happy. I think this deal isnt good but that just me. I think Magic still want to complete for the playoffs.

Lakers, Rockets, Orlando makes a lot of sense to me.

I'm surprised I didn't think of it myself.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
