Marshon Brooks thoughts???
One report had mentioned Clippers receiving him for a 1st rd pick. Great scorer, seems to fit the need at this point. I know there's sentiment that not a lot of teams want to participate in creating a "super team", but if we can get something we need out of it the Nets don't scare me too much, seeing as how they're pretty much reserved to have 3 players and a bunch of question marks. Thoughts??

I've thought about us getting in on the Nets trade rumors, too.
I think of it this way - you're exactly right in that Brooks is a very nice scorer and a pretty good rebounder for his position. And on the upside, he'll be on his cheaper rookie contract for another 3 years, which may come in real handy once it's time to possibly renegotiate with Granger after 2013-2014, and we'll still have Roy and Hill under contract, plus Paul George's price will have gone up by then too. Plus, he could act as - yes, a slightly undersized one - but a backup 3 also, depending on how many minutes we'll look to give Lance Stephenson, Orlando Johnson (assuming he sticks on the roster), and a potential incoming backup 2 such as Courtney Lee or OJ Mayo.
Not to mention our pick next year will likely (and hopefully) be in the 20s somewhere again, where top-of-the-line get-you-over-the-hump franchise guys are less and less likely to be.
A wing rotation of Granger, Paul George, (likely) Orlando Johnson, Lance Stephenson, MarShon Brooks, possibly an incoming backup in OJ Mayo or Courtney Lee, and even Dahntay Jones as last-case scenario in a rotation isn't too shabby at all.

Re: Marshon Brooks thoughts???
I'd give up a 1st for Brooks, no questions asked. It would be after #20, and Brooks is worth more than that. Ultimately, if we got Brooks, we wouldn't have a spot for Mayo or Lee. We would more be in need of a true SF, especially if you keep Lance and OJ.
I imagine that it would take more than a late 1st to get Brooks though. Likely, we'd have to take on a bad contract as part of the Dwight deal. I could be intrigued into taking on Humphries if we also moved Hansbrough in the deal for something else of value, though. If we could keep our first and move Hansbrough while picking up Brooks and Humphries? Well, that would round us out nicely now, hmm?

I agree 100%. A player like him will only get better with time.

I think I'd give a #1 pick for Marshon Brooks considering his rookie contract he's a cheaper move than bringing in Mayo.

So If we had to take Humphries at a resonable price to get Brooks for our #1 and Hansbrough I'd do that.

the draft is supposed to be weak next year.....bbbbbut I don't really see marshon helping us very much, I think Dahntay is the better all-around player
