Sounds like some amateur trying to make a name for himself. He may be right in which case win for him, if he is wrong than who cares? Rant sports (whoever the hell that is) will survive.

I heard about the rant sports site but I am not confident, nor trust their "realiable source." so I will take it as a gain of salt at the moment.

Apparently all you need is a blog to be a "source" for NBA info.

I agree. I'll go for now I am happy with the Asik signing.

The title was edited because a thread with this information was merged with this existing Asik thread.

Whether it is credible remains to be seen, but the OP posted the links to the source like the mods have asked.

If it isnt credible, which we will find out in due course, the title will be adjusted again.

My only hope is that they are planning to be very aggressive in the trade market. Question for this who know: if Asik is traded is his salary still structured with that $14mil in the 3rd season?

It seems likely that this guy just took what K.C. was reporting about Asik in his article and reported it as his own.

Yes.

I hope you're right. I like Asik, I'd love for him to stay, but at some point in the next 2 years either he or Jo needs to go, because you can't be paying $30 mill a year to 2 centers.

Even if they do match Asik doesn't mean its the end of Gibson, nor Noah I may add. However Bulls have to trade, or get rid of some players on the roster but it doesn't have to be Noah nor Gibson, and the two players we could look at to amnesty, or trade later down the road are Boozer and Deng. Which I think that might be the Bulls plan keeping Noah/Miltroic/Gibson/Asik as the Bulls future front court with Derrick Rose.

Of course I could be wrong, or I be close to it meaning match Asik but lose Gibson find someone to replace Gibson for a bit or something like that. Later down the road still get rid of Boozer and Deng.

We'll keep Taj as well. The next guy on his way out after Kyle Korver is.............

Carlos Boozer

I'm thinking though he could be traded though. 2 year deal for a 1 year deal (lesser player).

Core Players
Rose, Deng, Hinrich, Noah, Gibson, Asik, Butler, Teague

Thats is a crap team. By "core" I hope you man just for 1 season in which we are trying to improve our draft slot while not completely tanking....because if thats it for the forseeable future...wow.

Hinrich I doubt he is going to be our "core" especially long term, and same with Deng, Butler is replaceable. Teague is debatable though but could be a good trade bait though.

I feel our core is going to be Rose/Noah/Gibson/Asik/and Mitroic(hopefully he is the real deal.) plus don't forget we have the Bobcat picks for assets rather via draft, or trade could be part of our core as well.

But those I think and feel there are going to be our core moving forward, and it should be.

Asik TO Be Matched...

Post#736 » by DerrickRose025 » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:52 am

Chris Sheridan‏@sheridanhoops

I can predict, from talking to numerous sources, that every single offer sheet except Landry Fields' will be matched.
