WEFFPIM's Tidbits
-The Brewers have played a lot like the recent flurry of sequels to come out in the last month (Spidey, Shrek, Pirates). A long, drawn out, agonizingly painful experience which may be entertaining at times, but consistently falls short of expectations, yet leaves a door open for it to happen again.
-Even with going 4-12 over the last 16 games, the Brewers lead the division by 5 games. No, I'm not friggin' kidding. The Brewers could have played croquet the last two weeks and the other 5 teams in this division could have managed to play worse.
-Chris Capuano has pitched like absolute crap of late. Look for him to continue this trend as he's still mulling over that crazy Lost finale (Who's in that bloody coffin?).
-The Atlanta Braves are a baseball team. That's all I got on them
-Did you know that Andruw Jones is from The Neatherlands? Why is he playing baseball? Shouldn't he be clogging or building windmills?
-Bobby Cox needs one more ejection to tie the major league record. Not to be outdone, Ned Yost, to prove he's moved out from Cox's shadow, will stab the second base umpire.

Entertaining as usual. Chris Capuano needs this game, the brewers need this game, Chuck James needs to suck and we need to destroy. Go Brewers!

Gwynn had one of our 3 hits today and he's the problem?

James is pitching tomorrow so Gwynn won't be in the lineup but with all of the problems we're having, Gwynn is way down the list of things I'm worried about.

I'm just really down on this team right now. I'm not, as MD would say, a "Chicken Little", but I am really starting to lose faith in this team.

No Gwynn isn't the problem Ned is for thinking that Gwynn is still hot.

His last 30 AB's he's hitting .226/.250/.258/.508/1 BB/6 K if Graffanino or Counsell were doing that you guys would be screaming for their benching but since Gwynn is our best leadoff hitter (according to some) and has so much potential (not as much as Hart) then he should still get to play.

Gwynn should only be a pinch hitter/runner, defensive replacement maybe getting a start every couple weeks.

Some of you guys seriously overate him.

Chicken Little syndrome is when people overreact on short term results.

We are past that stage now. We have had a golden opportunity to have a 10-15 game lead. Sure we've faced some great pitching. But you can't win a title without beating those kind of guys, at least some of the time.

Atlanta/Florida/Chicago homestand. Need to win EACH of those series. With Smoltz and Hudson on deck todays game is critical.

I think all the winning spoiled us. But we'll be back, we'll win the division. The Cubs will miss the playoffs. :tooth

Two straight times Braun was at bat with runners at 2nd and third with 2 outs and 2 straight times he strikes out on a high fastball. Why doesn't yost or skaleen tell him to settle down? It's completely obvious he's too wound up and he's trying to hit that homer. Hell, the whole brewer team is like that. Ridiculous right now.

Don't expect fans to keep coming out if this garbage keeps up either. I'm guessing Ned's press conference went something like this.

"They battled out their but the Braves pitchers battled a little harder and held us. Capuano battled and located his pitches but he made a couple mistakes and that cost us the game."

"I'm not worried, why would I be? This team is still in 1st place and we'll battle enough to get some runs and our stellar pitching will win us some games"

"Everything is hunky dory in Brewerland if not for that one duckfart this would've been a tie game and we would've gone to extra innings where anything can happen."

braun was trying to do way too much today. his swing was long and loopy; you could tell he was trying to hit it out of the park every at bat. he was much more successful in san diego with his tight, compact swings. fool him once with a high fastball, shame on the pitcher. twice? shame on braun.

and billy hall? oh boy...every pitcher in the league knows how to get him out. he can't cover the outside of the plate right now to save his life.
