Was this the only open contract offer Houston had? Only asking bc one of the rumored hold ups to a Dwight deal was Houston having to potentially wait 3 days for teams to match their offer sheets so they knew how much cap space was available.

Jeremy Lin too i believe.

Ah ya, figured NY would of matched him already.

Brian K. Schmitz ‏@MagicInsider
Trading Dwight Howard goes above GM Rob Hennigan's head. Final decision of this magnitude made by owner Rich DeVos and family.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
Neither Andrew Bynum nor his agent has been contacted by any team to gauge his interest in signing a long-term deal if traded, source says.

As of yesterday, Lakers assured Bynum's camp, "Nothing's happening" on the trade front, a person close to the All-Star center said.

So let me get this straight: the Nets, who've been saying all along they weren't worried about Brook Lopez's foot, are now trying to get insurance on what will become a max contract. And at the same time, they're trying to sell this to Orlando as the centerpiece of a package for one of the top 5 players In the NBA?

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider
Lopez's agent pushing Nets to either sign Lopez for themselves or do a sign-and-trade by end of the day.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider
Nets fearful of an offer sheet for Lopez from another team if they don't act by end of day. Offer sheet would kill sign-and-trade anyway

This explains all the rumors flying the last few days. Nets are used as leverage

1 person I know in Magic Org says Shaw is Coach, Nets trade is happening. Other person says HOU trade is going down. Henny is tight lipped.

The best deal for Orlando is to get an additonal lottery pick, shed cap space, develop their young players increasing their value, and tank. It would be nice to get two top 10 picks, hopefully one is top 3. Orlando needs to find a new franchise player in the draft because Bynum or Lopez are not and there isn't any free agents coming up in the next two years who franchise changing.

Let me get updated: The Lakers, Rockets, and Nets are in the lead to get Dwight and the lakers, Rockets, and Nets are not getting Dwight.
