But the question is can Blaine get more rebounds than Brooks Lopez?

I really do feel we're better off that way, Brook is a capable of rebounder once you eliminate a stat hungry hump...

Gabbert was definitely put in a horrible situation last year and didn't have a truly fair shot to succeed, I'll give him that...but he barely even showed flashes.

No matter how good or bad a player is after their rookie season I never like toplace a label on them, so I'm still looking forward to him having one more year to try and prove himself.

LoL some troll on the GB claims he's a Nets fan, yet he's got over 1000 posts since joining and I swear i've not seen him here on our forum.

Really wish RealGM has the feature to still show member posts so we can look him up and expose him.

Started by a Knick fan at the trade deadline and now locked. But you knew that...you look at our board since you attend so many Nets games.

I've already said I don't go on your boards, and will continue not going on the Nets board. Get off your high horse buddy. I had season tickets for 2 seasons and enjoyed making fun of Brook Lopez from the first row in behind the basket. You know, the seasons when the Nets sucked so bad, we couldn't even fill up the arena? Every game was upgraded by my sales rep.

And because I don't visit the Nets forums, I assumed it was a new thread, basically saying the Nets will try to trade Brook again Jan 15. The Magic clearly do not want him.

I feel bad for Lopez, it's really not his fault that he's getting offered max contracts from three different teams. What's he going to do? Say no, give me 10 million a year instead please?

I like Lopez alot actually, I hope he bounces back this year nicely. I'm a Knicks fan, but I rather see Lopez playing with the Nets because I think Dwight is going to add more drama in NYC. Ideally I'd like to see Lopez playing with a tough 4 that plays D and rebounds. With JJ, Deron & Lopez you don't need another guy to score 20 a night, so I would like to see Humphries come back. I'd also really like to see David Lee back it the metro area and I think him and Lopez playing side by side would be nice offensively, though it could be awful on defense.

Lopez, I really like him alot, I just wish he was a little more assertive like his brother on defense. I would like to see the Nets target Robin as well to play with him. That could be interesting & fun to watch.

Lopez is one of the nicest guys in the league and a class act off the court. He definitely doesn't deserve all of the hate he gets, and I can't wait until I can bump these threads after he proves everyone wrong this season.

What I can't get over is how badly analysts, writers, fans, etc. are slobbering over Hibbert when he hasn't shown much improvement, and finally posted a season that is comparable to Lopez's rookie season ...

It's funny really. If Lopez never improved from his rookie year and averaged 13-8 each of his first 3 seasons in the league people would be clamoring for him, and talking about how he could fill in as a starting center for virtually any team in the league... But because Lopez had an off rebounding season in year 3 (because of injury) and holds career averages of 17.4 and 7.5 he's a defenseless stiff allergic to rebounding...

Some people are just clueless...

Lopez isn't strong on the defensive side from what I've seen. He's not going to have his name mentioned for the All-D team lol.... but he COULD rebound, but with Humphries next to him why should he? Let Hump take the rebound and have Lopez, a better offensive player, make his way down the court to execute a play with Deron. A lot of the knocks on Lopez are unjustified.

He alters shots around the rim and isn't a push-over around the basket. Draw him away from the basket and he's a major liability though... Can't guard the pick-and-roll and has a tendency to turn his head and get lost.

the rebounding thing, while overblown, is something i can understand. but where is notion that he is a bad defender coming from?

Humphries averages 10 to 11 rebounds per game over the past 2 seasons ... in any given game there are 80 or so rebounds to be had. Playing next to Humphries is no excuse for averaging 6 rebs a game in '10/'11. Sharing a front court with Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell wouldn't excuse 6 rebounds per game.

Heh? There's only a finite amount of rebounds to go around per game, if Hump is averaging 10 or 11 a game then that's 10/11 less rebounds for Lopez to grab, considering we also averaged around 40 RPG and considering the Bulls led the league with 46 RPG as a team, that leaves it to 30-36 RPG on average that can be grabbed if we were a good rebounding team, that will be shared amongst the rest of the rotation because that's just how games go and that's not a lot

Of course playing with Wilt and Russell would excuse it, if Howard played with them, his rebounding numbers would go down. It's common sense

Because it's such a common stereotype that if you're a bad rebounder you're scared of contact and hence a bad defender.
